Hello All. im charles banks from golden gate garrison. tk51195. Looking to start a darth revan costume.  I am trying to track down good sources for hard and fabric armor pieces...namely all the chest armor and the vambraces for the arms...and anything else I might be forgetting.  Could someone PM me with some recommended armor suppliers? Thanks in advance for any help.

Welcome Charles!

Two vendors that I know of off the top of my head are:

Bigwater99 - https://www.etsy.com/shop/Bigwater99
My Wicked Armor - http://mywickedarmor.com/

MWA will get you really close to a full kit if you get his deluxe kit with only minor modifications needed.  MWA also sells the shirt separately, but there are some on here who have made their own if you have any sewing machine skill, could probably do yourself.  You will still need gloves, boots, and balaclava (if you don't have one from your TK).

I personally went MWA, but I have been tempted to pick up a Bigwater99  full helm as the MWA is more like an old school hockey goalie mask style.

You can also add Lion's Den Studios to the list.  https://www.etsy.com/shop/lionsdendc?ref=l2-shopheader-name  I have owned products from all of these makers and they all have thier pros and cons.  I felt as though Bigwater99 had better product materials (fiberglass armor pieces and better metal rings and such)  than MWA.  MWA's armor is lighter and seems as though it would be very comfortable and he also sells the soft goods for the costume.  Lion's den Makes amazing masks, I just recently got a set of their new cold cast resin torso armor.  It is more DIY than the other makers as you must create your own mounting system.  If you are a DIY er it is a good choice.

If you want to scratch build, I used sintra for the armor and vambraces. You can usually get a 4x8 sheet for $50-60 and one sheet will make several costumes (I've made a Mando, Revan, and a couple other small items and I still have about 1/3 of a sheet left). I ended up sculpting, molding, and casting my own mask.

Hi All,

I'm from Australia and interested in the same.  I've freaked out a little over the armor how hard it would be for me to make. So a question is Bigwater99's armor 501st compliant?

With the proper midsection and hood attachments, it should be fine. You'll have to find someone for the soft parts.

The rings will need to be switched out on the bottom of the armor.

Tbh the rings he has on the upper armor attached to the sleeves is about as accurate as you can get you the game files, so those can stay as is.
