The above is color grabs from the ORIGINAL (DOUBLE HOODED VERSION) shown on the left. Bioware DID NOT CHANGE ANY COLORS ON HIM. They just TOOK OUT THE BUG.

The Far LEFT version should be TRUE TO LIFE because its rendered using NO IN-GAME LIGHTING.

The other reference on the right shows him IN GAME

That is why 3 straps in a ring totally sucks to work with, they really don't like to play nice. Either a thinner strap, or perhaps if you find a way to weather/weaken the folded ridge there so it sinks into the ring more and you'll get more of the look on the source image. The quality of your straps looks really good though.

Unsure if final or not, but for the sake of it, are you missing some lines on the brown part of the chest?

Yep! I am missing those lines! As with all things with each costume I learn as I go along. I need a professional way to add those lines. Does anyone have any ideas of how to do this? ANY advice appreciated. ^.-

I have paint the exact identical color of the leather (which is actually a shiny bronze) So whatever I add to it I can paint over it to look identical

Thanks! Being as though I made the straps I can make em again! (and/or beat the holy living dog sniff out of em, which is fine as well) I feel like (hope) if i move em around enough ill get the identical look...dear gosh who knows though! I have been wrong before! ^.-

Thats just part of making a costume like this though...

if you dont have to remake it 6x your not doing it right!

I am just thankful to have you guys! =)

When all else fails, use a picture:

DzNmzWO.png

First let me say this is what I 'think' we're looking at here. When creating depth with models (in particular I'm relating to painting little figures, but I feel it applies to what we see here as well) a ridge will have a light center/top and a dark bottom. Whereas, a groove will have a dark center/upper section and a brighter bottom section as the light from above begins to hit it more. I feel that's reflected in the above picture. The 'deeper' areas are darker.

The two lines there relate to my idea. "Don't complain unless you have a suggestion", right?

I'm not sure how you layered/created that piece but perhaps you could fabricate some sort of hard, shaped piece to go behind it, by doing that, you can make it exactly the shape you need and then bond the inside part of your outer layer and not compromise the outer surface appearance. It'll make the piece more rigid overall though as you'll have a rigid piece running horizontally across you, removing some of the flexbility for it to curve around you.

Lastly, you could apply gentle layers of some sort of stain/paint/dye to create a similar effect and while I don't think it would stand on its own (just painting the detail on), it could still be used after an actual curving effect to give it a better appearance on the eye perhaps.

Just a few ideas, I think whatever you do with the straps will be a good choice, I hate the idea of suggesting a remake, but if you end up with a better result, at least you know how you did it before and it shouldn't take as long.

Keep up the great work, you're delving into uncharted territory right now which is truly inspiring.

OFC it looks pretty! This version of the costume is such a bear, I think you're the first I've seen actually try to tackle it. So yeah, it looks GREAT. Don't ever doubt yourself too much. :D

As far as the chest piece goes, is that a leather/vinyl thing? IDK what I'd recommend doing to it to create the ridges and grooves without knowing what exactly you're working with. If you have a really steady hand, maybe puffy paint, then paint it over? Taigon is right with his analysis of what should be ridges and what should be grooves, I'm just not sure how you can create the grooves without destroying what you've got. I'll do some thinking, and if I figure anything out, I'll post suggestions. :)

Now replying.

I didnt do it yet, but I think I know! Its heat! Take a heat gun or a carfully used Iron to pleather and it has no other choice but to melt (slightly) and warp! I did it with my Starkiller robes to unwrinkle them when i shoved them in a box

As far as the chest piece goes, is that a leather/vinyl thing? IDK what I'd recommend doing to it to create the ridges and grooves without knowing what exactly you're working with. If you have a really steady hand, maybe puffy paint, then paint it over?

The chest was the last detail I did... I as afraid of it and continually searched for options. I went the easy way out and with a steady hand... I puffypainted it! haha
