Hey guys, I am finishing the details on my Acolyte build hopefully for 501st approval very soon. However I am finding trouble getting the right kind of leather pouches that are as accurate to the Acolyte shown in the trailers. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Many thanks.

Not easy!

I don't like mine and therefore I'm looking for the Jedi-pouches, just in a black or dark grey color.

If there is nothing out there, I try to build them on my own.

Yeah I had a heck of a time trying to find pouches that would work. Spent a lot of time searching the net and all I could find for pouches these days are cell phone cases.... :( I finally checked Evilbay and found some vintage shotgun ammo pouches that I'm hoping will work. These are "Voight" shotgun belt pouches, they were meant to hold five shells each. I know this may not help much as these pouches are old and most likely are not made anymore. I also looked at some military and law enforcement supply sites and seen some double handcuff holders and such that may work. These are the pouches that I plan on using.

Those look pretty spot on, and yeah that doesn't help since it was 1 auction that you won.... I guess I might have to commission some from a leather builder around town. This has been the rarest part of the whole costume....lol

I like the fabric pouch, I don't see any shiny clasps on the pouches in any of the images I have of the Acolytes.

I think, this is absolutly correct.

Without the clasp it might be an option....but the fabric pouch looks good like it is.

Out of interest, has no one thought about just making them?

Looks like a very easily done pattern.

The one on the standards page is just riveted instead of stitched which is a very cheaty way to do it.

Make a basic pattern out of card to get your sizes, transpose that on some tooling leather taking the thickness into consideration as well as extra to stitch onto depending on how you want to stitch it, and cut it out. just a case of dying, stitching and waxing.

Done a similar pouch for a friend.. TF2 pyro pouch.

(left as links not to hi-jack the thread)

did a TF2 sniper ammo pouch too

I'm no leatherworker, that one was only the 3rd pouch I've ever made.

I'ts pretty straight forward once you learn the proper stitching method. should really do a write-up.

Just an idea.. least you can then make it exactly to your specs

What a hard thing to find! I have looked at a lot of different options online. I found some nylon latex glove pouches that police use that seem to look pretty close and are not very tall.
