  1. I have used lobster claws to attach the Chest plate to the Tac. Vest's D rings found at the shoulder. I made a copy of my torso using the ductape mannequin method to attach to my standee mannequin and started working on the shoulder bells. For fun I moc dressed the mannequin just to look at it all so far (less the mask, shins, boots and axe OOPs don't know what happened with this here small pic but its the rt view. Sorry no time to fit it. Shoulder bells, softs weathering, mask hoses, paint ax and done!.... For now!
  2. Ok some updates, Velcro is on the ab and cod area. I have since purchased a Tac. Vest in place of re-manufacturing the one I currently had made. It is working out amazingly. I have glued on snaps to the ab section to hold everything up two in the front and two in the back. It is all attached to the Sweet new Tac. Vest via snaps on straps.
  3. Here is a moc-up of the Softs pre-Shoulders and a faux placement of the Pteruges. Pre Sewing for the right Pteruges i had to roll it to fit it in the sewing machine as to not sew against the grain of the pleats. Sewed on some velcro to attach the Pteruges to the Ab section of the armour. loop on one and Hook on the other so while getting dressed i don't mistake which one goes on which side. And Preping the ab for adhesive velcro
  4. here are some pictures of the Belt Nearly Completed, and placed on the Ab section. Next is pteruges Time and to figure out how to attach it to the ab or belt and not have the ab or belt want to fall off me
  5. OK so I got side tracked and started working on my belt, and as for the Pteruges i played with some pleats. Used lego for pressure blocks.
  6. Below is me adding a collar and snaps to hold it into the Armoured Collar. I have since added two more snaps to this to make a full 5 snaps to hold most of this capes weight. Collar and snaps, the collar is a piece of cut ABS with material folded over to hold it in place and then sewn to the cape. This is the inside of the Armoured Collar with the perfectly placed snaps. This is the under side after the cape is snapped into place And from another view Next is to position the under harnes's straps in the correct location and cut holes in the Cape to feed the shoulder bell starps to the harnes so the hold in place over the cape. and of course Weather the crap out of this cape. However that will have to wait until the Pteruges are done as well.
  7. DarthValkyria Mandalore the Ultimate will be at SWC this year in Orlando! Not Approved by the 501st becuase it is lacking a CRL and i dont think one will be done anytime soon. I do have acceptance into the MAnalorian Mercs tho.
  8. So I have Hemmed the Two half moons together and i did not need to do anything to hide the hem line because this fabric is so amazing that it made amazing pleats and hid itself. I then made a new method of holding the bells to my shoulders with this (fist time ever) designed and sized by myself (wife's assistance on the back pinning) Chest Vest! It looks cool and it works great! But because the internet is SOOOOOO Slow the pics have not loaded to my Photo Bucket yet and will have to wait until later to load them on this Forum.
  9. Last night I worked on the Next section of the Cape. No pictures because it was the same thing as the last Post Without the mistake part. I will next take the time to Hem the two half moons together on one edge, and then cut out 1/16 the on each side. Once Hemmed I will force a "forever" pleat to hid the hem line, by lightly stitching the pleat in several locations vertically.
  10. Ok so I started, here is my half moon: measure... measure.... measured... (hold on I need to get a piece of paper and see if this is how I do it again..) measure fold.. measure (check with another piece of paper) Measure... and CUT!!!! And yes I draw measurements all over my tables. LOL omg it flipping worked! I love it, I will next be making the bottom "Ptergues". If I can complete them with out error, I will attempt to cut and add on another 3/8 to each side of the cape to make it whole. A Side Note: "My learning curve in this project." As this is my first attempt at anything like this, I knew errors would happen. I was so excited to make the cape that last night I learned the hard lesson of measure thrice cut once. Hence the caption above, Measure measure measure test, measure measure cut. This is my fist attempt the folding and cut of my to be cape.... I should have noticed by its meek size that this was wrong. I now know i can make perfect circles! (My children will benefit from my mistake so nothing was truly lost here.)
  11. So I have Finally made the time to start the work on the Cape and other softs Upgrades. Here are some pics of, my practice cape with a white bed sheet (Who uses the flat ones anyway Right?!) then the other pictures show a small cut of the material that I am using and how it hangs (SO BEAUTIFUL)! cant wait to see it complete. Don't mind that the Pleats don't flow all the way to the bottom as the actual material is not so rigid. Sorry for the fuzzyness.
  12. I have since bought new Perfect Material For re-doing the Cape and Lower "Pteruges" (because I don't want to call it a skirt). I am also currently working on a new under mask with functional breathing hoses. now when I talk I actually sound like I am under a mask and it distorts my voice. I will try to take progression pictures if I can. I'm also thinking of making ribbed pants, but because it would be very subtle and rarely seen that's on the back burner for now.
  13. Practicing my hand/machine at sewing some patterns for the cape and skirt for this 'ol fella. I'm going to look into making the cape come right out front of the shoulder armour to better depict the Artwork from the comic books.
  14. Here I am at Ottawa Comiccon, What a great time, Learned what parts needed to be upgraded and what parts needed to be changed. But all in all a Great first Large event. People loved the Axe and i actually found one guy who was wearing a Mandalore T-Shirt!!!! Sadly i cant find his picture he took with me online. I so want that guys shirt!
  15. Here He is at Free Comic Book Day! Better shots to come.
  16. This is my Homage to The Battle of Malachor 5.
  17. Here is the latest on the AXE, Weathering Stage 2. I'm happy with myself, this is my first attempt at weathering and blood spattering ever, and I have impressed myself. i feel the blades look like they are coming out at you much better, like a 3d effect. much better then weathering stage 1, glad i took the time to play with it more. .
  18. This is my first attempt at weathering. I looks .... ok, perhaps over time i will make better. Here is the Clean side And the weathered side.,. let me know if you have any tips.
  19. Thanks! when I find the time I will be attempting to weather the bar and blade a little bit. I don't want to weather it too heavy as you can see in the comic book renderings it is shiny and new looking. That is because it is a new weapon, he made it after destroying Admiral Karath's flagship and made it out of the hull! lol so cool. "Ah Admiral Karath, is it? Or did you lose the Rank as well as your flagship?.....Recognize the Axe? It was forged from y our so called Courageous--when we began melting it down for scrap." Love IT!
  20. I couldn't wait to see it all together here is a few pics my lovely wife was able to snap over lunch.
  21. And paint is complete! this is now 98% done, a few details added to the staff and center ball of the bald, some light weathering and then it will be ready for display. Here it is during paint and its last stages. Hanging it to set for 1 hour And i brought the staff (pole) to try it all out together, and here she is in all her Glory! a special thanks to my son for showing it off Here it is next to a door in order to show its size, i can extend it taller but I would have to paint one section of the pole.
  22. So Clear coat is on and now its a 24 hour wait to tape and prep for gold paint and final stretch.
  23. I went to take the tape off this morning and there is some slight tape residue left on the dark grey sections, I will, on the Weathered side, attempt to clean it, but if I start making matters worse I'll be forced to clear coat over it tonight. It has turned out rather nice though. sorry about the crappy pic I was using the flip function on my phone as I have been using a mop handle to do the silver painting and cant put it into the stand I was using with the flag pole. i think the dark grey gives the illusion of the blades being separate, I like it so far, but there is always room for improvement. More to come.
  24. Judgement day today to see if the tape leaves residue or pulls the clear, I have a good feeling about this one. Pictures to come as soon as I am done the prep for the clear coat.
  25. here is the dark silver section painted and cleared. i will wait over 24 hours before taping up the sections to paint the light silver sections and so on.
