  1. There is a different artist for each of the books in the series alas. I recently submitted the costume and got a lot of grief over the colour of the red which I took the comic book pictures in and colour matched. In most frames of the comic book it is a darkish red through to a reddish burgundy. To be turned down over a shade issue when I have seen half a dozen different 'olive drab's for officer uniforms accepted is rather disheartening. Digital photography is notorious for not being true to the colour. I took three pictures of an olive drab and got 3 different colours just by changing the angle of my phone. Same lighting, same position of the fabric and still didn't look like what I was seeing. There is much flexibility with 'Olive drab' for approvals, but not with dark red? Its a shame. I cut images from the different comic books without any colour correction on my part next to a snippet of my fabric. Except for one snippet from a outdoor unlit scene (lower left) they all match my fabric. Before I make the other changes to the costume I would like to get advice on this. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/133982157641210166/ Tex
  2. outfit cut out and sewn together (when I realized I forgot to save some for the hat drape...thankfully local fabric store still had some) fairly happy with outcome, just at the fitting stage now, still some finishing to do. http://www.pinterest.com/pin/133982157640226869/ Next to do: Bolero, Hat and shoulder pads! 3. So collected every picture I can of this outfit and been evaluating them. I find some conflict with the CRL...and between the different images. There are at least 2 styles of vests and two different colours under the vest. http://www.pinterest.com/pin/133982157640076028/ Though above all else my interpretation of the pictures is that there is No underdress. The layers are : Bodysuit, Vest with skirts and Sleeves attached, Bolero +accessories. In the Comparison pic attached: In both open shots with the gun tucking into vest...if it was an underdress, the gun would peak out from the bottom edge of the vest. Also the level of gathering of the fabric at bottom edge of vest also suggests that it is attached to the vest as such a tight gather is not generally found just from 'a full dress' But from a gathered edge straight onto a waistband or bodice edge. I am tempted towards the first style of bodice. Since different from the CRL's would I just submit the pics with the approval pictures? Just some thoughts Austex
