  1. Can I ask whose kit you used? There doesn't seem to be any source for these that has a reliable availability, at least that I have found.
  2. The boots can be any plain black leather boots as long as laces or buckles don't show when you have the skirts on. I use a pair of knee high pirate boots that double up as my Nihilus boots. I bought all of the belt components, dye and tools at a Tandy Leather near me. I used a 2" wide cowhide belt and a 1/2" black leather strip for the middle belt and dyed it with USMC black. I went with a nickel plated two prong buckle for extra security. https://www.tandyleather.com/en-usd/home/department/hardware/11311-17.aspxis what I used for my belt studs. Just punch a hole where you want it and it has threads on the stud that screw into a plate that holds it on.
  3. From the opening ceremony, during the national anthem with the local Boy Scout troop.
  4. Nice, I definitely like the tattered version better. It more represents what a sith wraith would be like IMO.
  5. From Friday night's Relay for Life, the Mountain Garrison escorts the survivors on the first lap.
  6. Nice, are you going for the KOTOR or COTF version?
  7. I think this seller has been discussed here before, a few said it wasn't good and a few said it was. As with anything you commission on the net from someone that isn't local you will have to tweak a few things to get the fit just right. The biggest problem is the lack of mask and crown from this seller. Those can be a pain to make or expensive to buy from another seller separately. If you need the mask I and others here went with My Wicked Armor for one.
  8. Looks nice, just make sure the skirts aren't touching the floor when you're done, or else you might trip over them. Mine come to the top of my boots and there's been a few times on stairs that I still snag the tattered edge.
  9. Love that armor. How big of a head do you think that helmet would fit? I'm sure my big dome wouldn't fit at all in it, but I'd like to see how that would look on someone in the full costume. If you're up to doing a commission on an Acolyte armor set I'd be interested. Though it would have to be a few months so I can catch up on things after my current house purchase.
  10. Welcome, more in TFE is a good thing.
  11. Your costume looks awesome! When I was deciding on my Old Republic Sith Lord outfit I looked at Revan as well as Nihilus, but figured that Nihilus would be easier. It is nice to be at troops and sit in a chair while poking a little fun at the TK's.
  12. The sleeves on mine are 1 inch or 2.5 cm apart, which is what the CRL calls for I believe.
  13. This past weekend at the Colorado Symphony Orcestra shows they did a weekend of Star Wars as the finale for their season, complete with the conductor dressed as Emperor Palpatine. As the only sith lord available for the May 29 show I was brought out as Darth Sideous's new apprentice freshly summoned from beyond and making my appearance at the end of the song Battle of Heroes.
  14. I opted to go without sound on my Nihilus hilt as the only one I found online with sound was running over $400 for just the hilt plus shipping. The one I did get, though it was cheaper, needs some beefing up to make it brighter when a blade is in it.
  15. First name: David 501st ID: SL-92013 501st URL: http://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=18859 Costume: Darth Nihilus (COTF) Requesting Detachment access.
  16. The quilted sleeves will be a different fabric than the tunics, skirts and cowl.
  17. Finally got back to making the adjustments needed, including the second tunic after some medical bills and getting my wife a steampunk outfit and got my approval from my GML this morning. Just waiting on the confirmation for my numbers from Legion to be official.
  18. If there are sufficient photos to show the outfits from all directions can they be submitted to the Legion for approval? I am not familiar with all of the EU books and comics, but I do know the Acolytes were shown from all directions in the cinematics and in game play, plus the generic Jedi in the prequel movies (and other video games) would have had the same reference material for crafting the costumes and a CRL.
  19. Biggest reason for generic Jedi being RL acceptable is because they were on screen in AoTC while even in EU games, comics and books there really haven't been generic Sith pictures outside of the acolytes in the opening cinematics of SW:TOR.
  20. I was wondering because I got denied because of it. Though in a lot of artwork and even other approved member's costumes it's hard to even see the extra tunic.
  21. So the extra tunic that the CRL mentions, does it really serve a purpose other than making the costume much warmer to wear?
