  1. I ordered the armor from Bigwater on etsy I will post pics once it arrives. Thus far his customer service and communication have been great.
  2. For now I plan on the traditional Revan. Revan Reborn or even SWTOR good guy Revan may get built later. Continuing research on all that though. This helmet was just too cool not to own.
  3. I think I read somewhere MWA was going on vacation ether nowish or soon. So that could be some of the delay.
  4. I'm considering it. I have another more traditional Revan helmet on the way as well but I've been toying with the idea of attempting to build the SWTOR Revan armor on my own as well. I actually re subscribed to the game to research some of the differences in the two costumes this week.
  5. E6B4872989A5.jpg.html][/url] I was worried the helmet was not going to fit my head when it arrived as it was substantially smaller than most of the helmets I have worn in the past. However after about 15-20 min with the dremel tool! Spent a good chunk of the afternoon with the steel wool buffing and ended the day with this! The cold cast is shining up nicely!
  6. I got a box from Lions den studio this morning! By special request I was able to purchase as a Raw cast (I like to get my hands a little dirty)
  7. That which I seek hath been found and ordered!
  8. I imagine that now is probably a good time to ask the question. Does anyone have a source for accurate clasps for the cloak?
  9. JackBoots arrived today! They are a touch snug so I am going to have to see if I can break them in before the rest of my parts start to arrive.
  10. Oh my monks cloth... That sounds warm, I have a monks cloth outer robe on my tusken I think for this I will try to not go so heavy. Thank you for the feeback btw Joann's has their 60% off coupon online right now.
  11. What material in normally used for the robes and cape?
  12. I will check back in here. I ordered a set of armor from him over the weekend. Thus far he has had great customer service so I have high hopes!
  13. 15 June 2015 The first part component has arrived. SF Fallen It is an empty that I hope to be able to wire up myself (gulp)
  14. Editing this first post with some recent pics and improvements since it never got updated during my build. As with most builds there were some things that got rushed at the last moment in order to get to an event. Here are some pics from said first event Cincinnati Comic Expo 2015 from Sept I have made a few improvements since then! (Sadly the armor was riding way to low when these were taken but I think they show the improvements) More new pics further down since apparently this forum only allows 3 pics per post?
  15. Dz 11112 requesting access. I have an error on my profile as my garrison was not listed. I am a member of the Ohio Garrison I did not see it anywhere on the drop down menu.
  16. Progress this week! Let's make a rebreather! After seeing many different tutorials on the subject I decided to attempt this build on a budget. So 2 empty spray paint cans (free I emptied them painting mando helmets) 2 wd-40 caps (I spent 4 bucks because I didn't have any at home) and 2 1/4" flare nuts (found em at menards for like $1.25)not pictured 3ft 1/4 solid aluminum rod (3.49 at menards) and a scrap of leather I got from another prop builder (2 bucks). I cut the cans down using a cutoff saw. It was my first time using the device so maybe not the best cuts ever. But then I cleaned the sharp edges up with a file. Using the same saw I cut another piece of the can out this will be what the two ends are attached to. I applied the glue and clamped the sleeve in place while the clue cured. I failed to get pics of a few of the I between steps here (sorry) In short once I had the main body glued together I drilled holes in the WD caps so that the flare nuts could be recessed in them. I then glued all of those parts together and to the main body. Bending the rod was tricky. I tried using tool designed of this but in the end I hand bent the rod. Next up the leather was applied using barge cement. After masking the leather parts off I painted the whole thing then applied a bit of weathering. (Might need a bit more weathering to get it as grimy as I want it.
  17. This project is officially underway! I spent some time at the armor party today and I have to say I am very happy with the outcome! Hett boots have been created!!! I started with rubber boots from tractor supply (14.99) In hopes that they will provide some ventilation I drilled holes in the toe and heel area After cutting some strips of Khaki Duck Cloth (5,99 per yard x 3= 17,97) the wrapping began! Shoe goo (5.99 per tube x 3= 17.97) was used to attach the wraps. Wrapped boot! I used a steel wool pad to fray the wraps (this is after like 1min on each boot) I added some color to the weathering with a light mist of brown and black spray paint.
  18. I am a current member of the Mandalorian Mercs CC and this along with a phase Captain Rex will be my first costumes for the 501st (and RL with the Rex as well). When I found this section on the boards I became positively giddy yesterday. I was looking around for info on doing a traditional tuskin when I stumbled across this section. I am a really big fan of the Legacy comics and Darth Krayt in general. So this costume is going to combine my desire to build a sand person with my love of the legacy characters. I plan to make the majority of this myself with my brand new budding sewing skills! They are still pretty rudimentary but you have to start somewhere right? Everything is still in the planning stages right now but I wanted to get this up and started. I do have a question to start with. What material is everyone using for the dark brown cloth parts? I assume the other cloth parts can be made with the same materials as a traditional tuskin yes?
