  1. Ok no problem it éven changed since my build was approved. I would advice tout adjust your black fabric ( that hangs to the o ring) it seems a bit off. Maybe it's not long enough ? How are your leather strip connected to the o ring ? It doesn't look like it "hangs" on the pics Great job otherwise !
  2. Hello ! By the CRL : The hood is full and encloses the face completely. The lower front section of the hood tucks under the chest armor. I dont see it well in the pictures is it done this way ?
  3. Hello there ! I used thick black cotton for my hood, cape and skirt. The cape is one simple rectangle. The height is the distance from your shoulders to the floor. The width is your shoulder witch x 3 so you can do the pleats. The cape is knife pleated, you can easily find a tutorial online, I recommend pinning the fabric to see how it looks, something sewing the pleat vertically can help give a better look. For the hood, I don't have a proper pattern. I started with a sort of tube (to enclose the head) that I progressively adjusted on the front to remove the excess of fabric. I did some simple knife pleat for the shoulder part. hope this help !
  4. I made everything myself ecept gloves, boots and mask. fabric is a thick black cotton and armor is hard and soft leather here are some wip pics https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Fj02hdtmweervFOLevfZZocHB35k8Rzu
  5. I got my mask from Virateck, a French 501st member who did a great work on it
  6. No vendor is "501st approved". The wicked armor is though the one on the pictures in the actual CRL (but the CRL has been recently updated with more precise features. I know some Revan used this armor as a base to modify later. I guess the older member may know more about this subject.
  7. I built my own costume in a month in November/December but I'm far from an expert in my own judgement. I could still give you tips if you'd take them ! Remeber that here is the best place to get your advices cause many people walk by and can help you.
  8. Hello mate and welcome in the Revan Section You seem to be planning your work way ahaead and that's great ! I personnaly used thick black cotton for the caplet, hood, and hakama. You can't really see it in the reference pisctures but the fabric seems smoother than rhino canvas. Concerning the boots and gloves, I ordered some on amazon and my boots are simple one from a regular shoe shop (hard to find decent neutral boots without a high heel ><) I will follow your thread to see your progresses good luck =)
  9. Welcome back and good luck for the costume ! I have nothing to add to the revious member pointing things to change, but I'll follow your progress !

Sooooo my application was accepted today, I'lm thrilled and relieved at the same time ! i'm officially part of the French Garrison and wanted to thank you for the support, advices and kind words I'll stay around to help other whenever I can and I can't wait to start trooping with my comrades !
  13. Good luck I would recommand to go one piece at a time if you build them yourself, be patient, and don't rush things. Sometimes it's better to put your work down and think about it a while before coming back on it Don't forget to update us about your progress !
  14. Wow this is really awesome well done your build is amazing

Alright I see what you mean At the moment the leather is carved to give the aspect of ridges. I followed the advice of a friendly leather crafter to maybe them sturdier and will make some tests soon. The part about "connect both halved permanently" sounds great but I'm not sure about how my hand would fit in it I need to investigate more ! As for the ab armor, I realised hapilly that the only problem I have is that I wear the armor too low on the hips, lower than needed. So no need to redo the breast part, shortening the ab armor should be enough ! Still making progress

Okay last rush before application (I hope !) I received my new Revan mask (if one year ago you told me I would have TWO lightsabers and TWO Revan masks I wouldn't have believed it ^^), crafted by a fellow French member (virateck) and I'm thrilled with how it looks. More practical, more menacing, I love it. It seems more accurate too What remains to do : Fix the ab armor and the sides of the armor to make it cleaner. Attach some foam inside of the mask for more comfort. Redo the bracers that are really not working at the moment. Regarding the bracers, would you have some advice to make them steadier even if I stick with leather to keep it coherent between armor and bracers ? I don't know how to make them hold "seamlessly" like pointed Darth Valkyria. Maybe an inside/hidden plastic structure and glue the leather on it ? I'm not entirely sure if the vambrace are the right side and just don't hold correctly or if they are too narrow... (Pics of the vambraces earlier in the thread )
  17. Happy Holidays everybody

I ordered a new mask that should be less wide and more accurate ! Meanwhile my mother took some pics yesterday, in an old abandoned building. I can't wait to have my armor finished for application. I'm currently working on a new ab armor, I find this one too flexible. And I also need narrower pleats as indicated. Happy holidays may this year be the one of completing your builds
  19. I would say that your hood is a bit large/wide at shoulder level. I would advice to make the top of the hood a bit round instead of straight so it holds better on your head and mask when you move your head. Maybe you could make some pic in close up of your shoulder part (from the side and back) so we can better help you ?

Guess who've finished her gloves ? I got a first full pic by a journalist at the Last Jedi Premiere in Paris (Thanks Pierre Trouvé) I got some reparation to make, one of the hood attachs is out (ti was poorly hand sewn so no big deal) and one of my O-ring belt is also gone and will need to be fixed. It was a great experiendce to show my costume to the public, many wanted some pictures, journalists asked me a lot of questions I also took some pictures with young fans (a lot of little girls I was so pleased ^^) And I loved the movie so it was a nice day I found someone who is selling masksat a decent price but he is not responding any of my messages so I'm a bit frustrated ^^ I'll keep you up to date
  21. Hi and welcome. It would be best to show us some reference if you need help =) The CRL has several costume available so maybe you can start there and point where you are stuck ? https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:DZ_Doctor_Aphra_Red_Vest_A https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:DZ_Doctor_Aphra_Red_Vest_B https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:DZ_Doctor_Aphra_Grey_Jacket

    1. The mask is far too large in proportion to the costume. : Agreed, I definitely need to buy another. Maybe you know someone who can make them in europe ? (to avoid shipping cost ?) 2. The ab fabric strips are too wide and should be no more than maybe 5" height total. : At the moment, the strip are 3cm (1.18'') wide and the whole is 14 cm (5.5) wide, 3. The bracers look soft and the attachment method is not a seamless method as in the game files. Braces are the same material than the armor, hard leather with acrylique dark copper paint. I attach some close up. Any advice for the attach ? I don't think the leather is sturdy enough to hold without anything to hold them together. 4. The skirt is not pleated with the box-pleat style. THE CRL Speficy knif pleat so that what I went for. Should I redo it ? 5. Full gloves, including fingers, are required. Are there hand plates in the photo? I'm still waiting for my gloves to be delivered (they are a few days late...) The handplate are done but not fixed yet, so not on the picture. Thanks a lot for your time it really help to knkow where I am and where I'm going EDIT : about the knife pleat, I think I juste need some ironing to mark them better :D)
