  1. I can't really recommend linen for the inner dress, it creases a lot! I've used a faux crepe de chine for my dress and veil and they drape beautifully.
  2. Hi Diana, Nice to follow your build topic here. I wanted to share this link that has a great explanation of how to manipulate the darts in fabrics to make the little pleats for Merrins tunic. https://www.theshapesoffabric.com/2018/02/28/dart-manipulation-basics/ I would also suggest to make the skirt section from a separate panel in the front of the tunic, because the wrap closure doesn't line up very well and will likely cause the bottom to drag and warp when the top wrap is attached to the skirt portion. I regards to the boots, I've very rarely seen a pair of boots that are fitted to the calf without a seam on the back, so I would think if it matches the leather intended for the side panels it should look the part.
  3. If you're ever in need of replacement material, this one in Charcoal is exactly the kind of colour you're looking for; https://www.bluemoonfabrics.com/en-nl/collections/solid-color-spandex/products/superflex-heavy-compression-spandex?variant=36439315054746
  4. Hello everyone, I’m Daisy from the Dutch Garrison and together with Rikki I have been assigned as your LMO team for this term. About Me: My name is Daisy van Rijn, and this is my second term as a 501st Legion Membership Officer. I have eight approved 501st costumes, four in the Rebel Legion and I have a Seventh Sister costume that I'm hoping to finish this year. I have been sewing since I was 19 and love sharing that acquired knowledge with others. I'm excited to be able to assist you this year with the TFE Detachment as I have a large love for the Old Republic Era. What is an LMO? The Legion Membership Team is responsible for reviewing and processing applications for membership, and maintaining and updating member information in the Legion database. The Legion Membership Officers drives costume policies, including acceptable costume types for membership and setting standards for costume submissions, and are the final arbiter of member costume issues and approvals. The Legion Membership Officer supervises and advises Detachments, Garrison Membership Liaisons, and Garrison Web Liaisons on any questions or issues they may have with member’s costumes. Have a question about membership these are the folks to talk to! There are LMOs you can contact at any time at Legion Officers however Rikki and I are the ones who are assigned to the Imperial Gunnery Corps this term. Thinking of starting a NTTL (New to the Legion) Costume? Please message the Detachment and me here as well as send a link to your build thread. I love researching new costumes and helping. Worried a costume may or may not be eligible for the Legion approval? https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:CRLGuide See Character Approval and New to the Legion Costumes (NTTL) sections for details. For “New to the Legion” costumes please also have a look here: Costuming Standards Have a question? Do not hesitate to message me. Get your references together and sent to LMO (at) 501st (dot) com.
  5. The shins don't stay on for me unless I attach them with both straps and velcro on the boot base. I dyed the tips of my wig, but I bought a human hair wig for Lana, so I could use normal dye. I'd recommend trying to dye the tips with copic marker if you're going for that look. I made all the armor parts from PVC, so nothing is 3d printed. I think the belt buckle is under a lot of stress so that might die eventually.
  6. Yay! I love seeing more people make a Lana Beniko costume! I love wearing mine, when it's fall/winter, not a summer proof costume haha I made all my grey parts (Tunic, Tabards, Shawl) from cotton canvas as well, it has a great weight for this costume. I didn't make the undershirt, it was store bought I actually have two different thicknesses a thin rib knit top and a thicker knit sweater. The pants I made from a stretchy denim fabric. Goodluck with the build, it's a tricky one to finish, but such an awesome character!
  7. I've originally gotten this costume approved with my real hair, but I've since dyed my hair and I do feel like my wig looks better for this costume. As for the armour parts, I've made all of my armour parts out of pvc. The costume parts itself are relatively straight forward, the patterns on the tunic might be a bit tedious to lay out correctly, but it's nothing major. Goodluck with your build!
  8. I have purchased that helmet two years ago, but I can't get my GML to approve it, as the size (at least for me) is off and some of the details are slightly inaccurate. I received a 3dprinted dome that is scaled to my head size, but as Nina already mentioned above, most of the files have inaccuracies, as does the helmet we're trying to finish.
  9. Sorry for the late reply to your post, but if you downloaded Sticklove's image, he also offers the extracted 3d model you can use in a freeware programme XNLara, so you can view the model in 360 etc, it might be very helpful for you to see certain angles and whatnot :)
  10. Hey everyone! I'm SL/ID 86110 and I'm with the Dutch Garrison. I'm also a member of the Dune Sea Base within the Rebel Legion as Jyn Erso. I recently got my second costume approved within the 501st Legion, Lana Beniko. I'm very happy to have finished it after building every part from scratch and getting help from my boyfriend to paint and weather every part with pigments. I wanted to join the Flagship forums as I'm hoping to be able to finally finish my Seventh Sister build after working on that for over a year as well as being able to contribute to any other members looking to build a Lana Beniko costume.
