  1. I've been in touch with my 501st people and they've been really helpful, as have you guys. I've gathered a ton of reference photos from the comics as well as the various write up's about Lumiya herself, including about her lightwhip which I'm really excited to create. When I'm not in the middle of moving and getting my new job settled, I'll write up all that I found to see how it lines up with those that have actually completed her costume. 2. I think I needed to read this tonight....I've been fretting because there's not really an "official" guide for Lumiya, and without her being well-known to the masses, there's not a lot of media out there to base references off of; i.e., photos, still-frames, etc., so as much as I don't want things to be "left up to interpretation" on something that needs to be this exact, it's good to know that as long as my research is sound, and I can back up my choices, that I should be able to breathe a little easier. That being said, I would absolutely love to have any sort of feedback or what not once I do start putting her together, just so that I ensure that my ideas are not too far off the mark, so to speak.

Oh damn...I'm sorry. I was so focused on the really awesome looks and didn't see the lack of active account. Ah well, there are a few other Lumiya builds I can look at, but unfortunately she's still relatively under-represented so it's going to be a bit of a fun chore putting her together lol. A labor of love, I'll call it.
  4. I know this thread is a few months old, but do you have any more updates - especially as far as the armor build for Lumiya? I'll admit the task is daunting, but I'm looking forward to beginning my journey to plan her out this year. The armor pieces are the scariest parts for me because I've never worked with foam before, but the Dark Lady of the Sith is worth it.
  5. Happy Star Wars Day! I celebrated by watching all of the movies, then have continued the celebration by gathering up the rest of the cinematic universe....now on to find Doctor Aphra comics in digital format since my eyesight doesn't like reading books/comics/etc in print much anymore.

Your Lumiya looks amazing! I'm about to start the arduous task of drafting the plans to make her myself, and the more I see, the more excited I get to do it. I have a technical question to ask, even though this thread is several years old...what did you use for the "circuitry" ? I know some people have drawn it on with an acrylic paint marker, others have used wiring such as the kind used by jewelers, but yours looks like another iteration all together! Thank you for any help you can provide, and again...amazing work!
  7. Thank you so much for your detailed write up of your work on Dark Lady Lumiya! I am looking at creating her for the Aurora Borealis Alaskan Outpost of the 501st and this will be a huge help in doing so [emoji1] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Hello, I'm Beth and I'm looking to become a member of the Aurora Borealis Alaskan Outpost 501st and live in Anchorage. My sewing skills are slowly improving, and I've been involved in costuming and cosplaying for almost 5 years, with this new venture into the 501 being my biggest one yet. I want to try and fabricate the Dark Lady Lumiya with her lightwhip. When I'm not fabricating, I'm a happily married 32 year old nerd doing the 9-5 office job and playing video games. I came by my passion of Star Wars genetically, both my parents and my mother's parents were huge Star Wars fans and I grew up watching the movies, but until now have never fabricated anything Star Wars related. I hope to find any help I can in creating a costume regulation worthy Lumiya so that I can fully join my fellow frozen Empire members as a member of the 501st. Like Lorelei I have to wear glasses as well and can't wear contacts, and with Lumiya already having part of her face concealed, I worry that it will be a large problem.
