  1. Hello

Your observation is correct, the hood needs work to fit the part from Pam - I have the same one and I worked the hood around it and used velcro to have it stay in place. It will not fit with already made cat-ears on the fabric, when the seller didn´t have the part to work with.

The pic comes up very blurry for me, so I am having a hard time to see the other details, but do remember also, that the cape is not allowed to go out over the arms like you have right now. You will need to put snaps or velcro on your shoulders and cape for it to sit right and get it to go up over the shoulders and down the back.

I am also unsure about your gloves, on your right arm it looks like the glove isn´t formfitted but flares out ? perhaps it is just the way you stand.

And I can´t see if the sleeves are quilted ?

The outer skirt looks a bit off as to the CRL, that you can find here : Costuming:SL darth nihilus - Databank (501st.com)

For us to give the best help, a picture of each part of the costume and pics of you suited up in natural lighting without the saber light will be appriciated - front/back/left/right side pictures ;-)

But all in all, you´re almost there :-D

  2. Your GML team is where you will need to send your application, and they will make sure to send it to the Legion for final approval.

From what I can see, your cape is to long it shall not touch the floor, and you need to gather it more at the shoulders, it shouldn´t go out over your arms like yours do, but up over your shoulders and down the back.  If you look at the CRL model, you will get an idea on, how it should look.

Do you have padding on the chest area ?

Your skirt also need to have a more gathered look like the CRL model, yours do not have any and shorten the lenght as it also shall not touch the floor.

And I am a bit worried about the large opening on your hood, but it can be a dressing issue ?

All in all you have done a great job, just the last finishing touches and you´re good to go

Wait... What?! But you're one of the OG Nihilus! Did you make a new one?

Sorry for the late respons, didn´t get a notification :-(

No sadly I just don´t get to use it as much as I wanted to, and my son liked it, so it is a win for him - he got approved without issues, so that was nice for a change.

I am in the making of another costume at the moment, but perhaps I´ll do another Nihilus at some point ;-)

  4. It can also get more expensive, if one get things done and then will have to replace parts due to them not being correct.

The link to files, that Nina has given you, is quality.

Making costumes is not a cheap hobby, sometimes I wish it was ;-)  - that is also why some costumes for myself is taking really long time to complete, because I need to save up money for parts.

  5. No that one looks to much like Vaders - I wouldn´t use it.

This is the one from the CRL - you´ll need a plain silver colored one.

The next picture is mine, that I got custom made for my Visas Marr, I used it on non-canon events when I still had my Traya.

You´ll need something similar in style - metal/silver color, plain hilt.

  6. Yes the A pattern would work just fine, just remember to have extra fabric at the shoulders for the pleates in the front - none in the back.

And enough fabric in the back of the skirt to give it a gathered look from the waist and down.

  7. Sorry for missing this thread

I got my saber custom made several years ago, sadly the maker has closed since then.

Since a saber is not needed for approval, you are good to go. If you want to use a saber, I would either by the one you link to and as Jennifer writes change some parts, or buy the parts and put one together yourself  ?

It just needs to be similar to the one in the CRL - unless you want to use a saber for canon events, then it must look the same.

  8. A couple of things.... there shouldn´t be a seam at the hood edge, I made mine a double layer to prevent it and sewed it on the dress collar.  That way I also didn´t get the line from the top and down in the back of the hood.

It looks like the pleates on the shoulders are going down the back - they shouldn´t do that, they are only to be in front from the shoulders down to the waist, and to have a gathered look from the waist down on the back. Also it looks like there are seams high up on the sleeves, those should not be there either.

But if you can get the seamstress to make the corrections, it should be ok for approval, the corrections would also minor the baggy look on the back of it.

Though I would argue to use another kind of fabric, this looks very stiff.
