One has been approved in the Rebel Legion. as per the SWTOR revan is not a sith anymore. But if you want to  try and clear  Revan from the SWTOR period you  will need to  do the Revan Reborn

I use Wool .. some use merino wool but it is expensive.  I tend to stay away from  soft fabrics as it makes them look like a is not a proper uniform but  more of a fancy  dress. or some thing purchased for the 31st of  October

Just get some more leather straps to  bring the ring  lower .. I did that for mine
