Here are bigger pictures of my 5th attempt app pic preview.
I know that the fit adjustment is off, my heel got caught on the back of my inner skirt and I didn't realize it then it through it off.
The GML had stated that my "cat ears", I hate that term, didn't look like the CRL picture if Scott and my Obi, "It appears to be folded over and still something poking out from behind the leather belt. It should be a single layer and nice and flat." I will post those pics so you all can see what he means. I have taken a new set of app pics an I will post them soon and hopefully the fixes I did work.
Now I did send the GML an email about the hood corners...
"I understand that my hood corners don't look like the one pictures in the CRL, but I only used the written costume description listed in the CRL's. I used combinations of the pictures below as my reference pictures. Almost all are from the game and official advertisements of the game. I have only seen fan art that has the hood corners look that extremely pointy.
This is my explanation with references of why my hood is designed and constructed this way."
His responce was…
"I understand your thought, however the game images are not the same as the crl and that is the basis for me and the DL of TFE for this costume. The game images are not used for the crl and are not what approval is based off of."The Crown is what was troubling me
The second pic is after the fix that i did. What do you all think?

This is what my GML said...It´s hard to see the details on the pics - they are very small, even when I click on them. What fixes did your GML say, that you needed to make ?
Your obi is way to wide - it needs to been around 10 cm only.

Now I have a question about this…Wouldn't the licensed LFL images and the written description of the characters look superseed the CRL main picture example? I'm not trying to argue this, just wondering.
Please give me as much feedback as possible with the sets of pic I will be posting.
Thank you

Hello,
If you are doing the COTF Nihilus, then his "cat ears" are far more pronounced than in the KOTOR version.
As seen in this official art work: http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/fictional-battle-omniverse/images/9/91/Darth_Nihilus_Star_Wars.png/revision/latest?cb=20151231095221
When I first applied with my COTF Nihilus, I had the same type of comments come back about the points needing to be bigger and more pronounced. All I did was glue on some Eva foam, and shaved it down until I had the right shape. I went slowly, shaved a little off, put the fabric cloak on, looked at what I had and compared it to the CRL image and the artwork. I did this until I felt I had a good representation of the points. When I applied the second time, I was approved.
Some times it is the little things that are the hardest to get right, but in the end make a big impact on the look of the costume. You are so close! Your Nihilus looks amazing! You just need to get a little bit more definition and size added to your "cat ears". Try the Eva foam method if you like. It worked well for me and for many others.
Cheers,
Nef
Thanks Nef for the advise. I have added foam to my crown, it looks like it popped them up a bit and made them more pronounced. The image you used is one I was using, the only problem is that it's an action shot and it's a bad represention of the characters looks. I have posted a new thread with preview pic of my 5th attempt, please check them out and compare.

It turns out Worbla is super easy!!
I haven't worked with it yet. I have a plan to make Luke's robot hand for his TFA look out of it.

For your first working with Worbla that turned out awesome.

I just want to throw out there my listing on etsy for a Darth Nihilus mask. I sculpted the mask using the KotOR 2 LFL artwork and promotional material, casted it in silicone and slush cast using Smooth-on 65D resin. Below is the etsy listing and Facebook WIP link.
With all the masks out there to choose from what's one more.

I got mine at Spirit Halloween 3 halloweens ago. At first it was a bit tight and i was blinking a lot because it was against my eyelashes. Then while trooping as my mando I found a great trick from a Kylo with CCG. He also wore a blackout mask and he had taken a pair of safety glasses and cut the lenses out. So I found an old pair of sunglasses, popped out the lenses and wore them under my blackout mask. I can see just fine and no constant blinking.

Hey everyone,
I just wanted everyone to know that I make and sell the cape clasp and the harness backplate. I sell them as a combo pack and separately. Go check them out and see if they are what you need for your costume. They look good on my wife's costume and they are really lightweight.

Great look. I am finishing up my wife's Mara and your link helped out just incase we have to redo her jumpsuit. Also I have a question for you...Do you have the cape clasp and harness backplate?

So here are the pics I took on Saturday morning in direct sunlight with the fixes the GML suggested I make from the 4th attempt. These are not pics i will be sending in as my fit adjustment was way off and being outside blew out my mask. Are there any suggestions on taking good pics outside without white balance blow outs? Also my Darth Nihilus is CotF version.

Since this is for KOTOR 2 Nihilus it'll be a bit more difficult for them to make that argument about CRL pictures because some of the images for that CRLs from both our website and the 501st website haven't been completed yet, including the one you want for the cowl and cowl triangles. You only have this one image of a member's costume to go off of.
http://databank.501st.com/mw501/images/thumb/9/9a/DarthNihilusKOTOR.jpg/500px-DarthNihilusKOTOR.jpg
It also says in the description of the cowl that there needs to be a structure under the hood that helps create a square shaped head from a back view. I don't know if you had one under the cowl or not but from the pictures it looks like the top of your cowl needs to be shaped the correct way. This can be done with a layer of foam as well, it doesn't have to be plastic.
This is SL-2272 from an old photo shoot. He did an amazing job on his KOTOR Nihilus. Hope he doesn't mind me mentioning him.

No mine is for CotF, not KotOR 2. I do have foam under the hood from the crown corners to the back of the head. Since These pics were taken last week I have added some foam to perk the corners up so that they are not so pointed downward.

Howdy everybody,
My Name is Tom and I am from Fairfield ca. I am in the midst of applying for the Golden Gate Garrison as Darth Nihilus. I just have gone through my fourth attempt at sending in my app pics and had a couple of fixes come back. Hello out there,
I'm Tom and I have been applying for Darth Nihilus with the GGG. Now I feel that I have finally fixed all the issues that the GML has brought up, but I need other opinions before sending in my app pics for a 5th time. Where can I post pics of my app photos for you all to look at them?
I need all the help I can get, thank you.
Tom

My GML stated that my hood crown was looking flat. I was able to add some foam to the hood form to make the crown or "cat ears", as the GML puts it, more pointier and not as flat.
