I recommend you have someone help you for the first time. They hold the armor front and back on you where it should connect and sit, and you make sure the straps over the shoulders fit well. Then when the shoulder straps are set to your body, they line up the armor and place the Velcro for the side that isn't already attached.

If you provide photos it will be easier to see what you referring to.

The Halloween ones look less officer boot, I say those ones.

To keep track for those folks watching this thread, the initial overlook by TFE Costume Advisors and LMOs is quite good! Just a few things to make this 100% complete. -a balaclava is needed -dark makeup to black out around the eyes -greyish bodypaint/makeup for hands -ever so slight weathering/black wash on the armor and fabric to get the mottled effect present on the reference layout This really did come out fantastic!

Yeah the boots should work for basic Revan that you get for Nihilus.

It actually looks good on the height! You want it like, right at ankle level with the boots on.

Nihilus ones don't matter as much since they are covered by the skirt. Revan ones should really be square toed.

You have SLD access since you don't have an approved Detachment costume.

You don't separate them, you make them separately. So, make one panel with the box pleat, then make an entirely different panel.

The easiest way to do so is just make 2 separate panels. Then, you attach the panels with a waist band that is worn under the armor. My recommendation is to make a long loop band so that you can feed a belt through it and the excess strap can go back into the loop on the other side.

Comparing these to the references and CRL, do they look like they would pass for color and pattern?

You have SLD access already. Since there is no approved TFE costume, you are ineligible for full access.

Correct on the waist! Just remember the skirt is a series of box pleats and inverted pleats, so it isn't purely just a fold in the same direction kind of pleat. And yeah, Nina is fine 😁

Instead of having a full length cape, the front is connected permanently, and the back and sides are cut short and bunched up.

The centered/not centered is really personal preference, so I wouldn't worry too much.
