    Greetings:D
I'm Ion, curently reside in London.
Love play SW:TOR. Started work on Lana Beniko SOR, (green version).
Also I have one of Dread masters, Darth Bestia costume (older mask version), which I plan upgrade.
Should I start work in progress thread or something? How it works if characters are kinda new?
I'm not a 501st member yet but hope to join.

Hi Ion, glad to have you.

http://www.theflagshipeclipse.com/forums/index.php?/forum/95-eu-character-research-discussions/is our thread for costumes we're working on but may not yet have approved.

I've been dying to see some Dread Masters, so extra kudos there, I like the older mask myself, but that's what I remember from those cutscenes. :)   Please let us know if you need any assistance at all, we're here every step of the way.

Heya, TK-41181 of the FL garrison.

Basically helping my fiance with her upcoming 7th Sister build, was trying to figure where the rest of the builders were for this, it seems this is it!

Glad you found us Panzer, as always, don't hesitate to ask, we're here to help.

Hi I'm Matt, I'm from New York and I'm trying to put together an Imperial Knight Costume.

Welcome Matt!   We've got info for that!  Be sure to dig in, and ask questions!

Hi! I'm Julie from Cleveland Ohio. I will be with the Ohio Garrison. I'm currently working on a Seventh Sister costume and would love any tips!

I'm posting pics of my work in progress here...

    http://ohio501st.com/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=13850

Welcome Julie!   Thanks for the link!   If you start a discussion thread we'll be able to bounce ideas back and forth.  Private messages are also great too if you need.

    Hello all,

My name is Chris, 44 years old, probably be 45 by the time I finish my costume lol.

I am from Hawaii, but I have been living in Germany for the last 20 years.

I am Ex-US ARMY, Ex-DOD Civilian, Currently a Physical Therapist.

My intention is to join the German Garrison (and the SESQ with in it), once I get my costume completed.

The Costume I am working on is Starkiller: Dark Lord's Armor Hoth

Reason I am interested in joining the 501st, my kids are getting older, gives me more time on my hands, and I am looking for a new hobby.

Also it looks like fun, makes little kids happy, and something to give back to the next generation of Star Wars fans.

Reason I am here in the EU, I have questions about my costume that needs a bit of help, and all the Starkillers are here lol.

I have already read some posts of others who have made the same costume, and I need some helpful info.

    Chris...

Welcome Brother. (Air Force, currently applying Dept of Treasury).  I'm glad this club can provide all your needs in a hobby, it's truly rewarding the first time some little boy or girl gives you a big hug (and even when they run away terrified).  If you haven't already, feel free to start your own thread if you need to and get some direct comments.  if you're not getting the help you need, please let me know.

Hello, everyone!  I'm Andrea, but y'all can also call me Ky.  I live in southern California near the Imperial Sands Garrison, and I'm also a sewist.  A clan mate (I'm also a prospective with the MMCC) suggested I make soft parts for costumes, so I'm joining the detachments and offering to help with whatever soft parts I can.  (And who knows?  My 'home era' is the Old Republic, so I may settle more here along with being a Merc.  Time will tell.)  So definitely let me know how I can help!  Thanks, all!

Welcome Ky!   There's always a high demand for folks with sewing skills.   Naturally you have to be kind of careful how you advertise, but be sure to check out threads like this one, and various build threads to see if anyone needs help!

Good morning. I have made my way over here from the Florida Garrison (Everglades Squad) and, while currently stationed in VA, I will be relocating to Miami in May on military orders. I wanted to get to know some of the 501st folks in my soon to be local area before heading down. I have toyed around with joining the 501st for a few years now, but life and other fandoms have always gotten in the way and my Star Wars costumes have never been started. But this time I am resolved - lol!

A bit about me - I have been costuming for about 7 years now, mostly military cosplay: Firefly Browncoat, Halo, Alliance Trooper/Officer (Firefly), and more recently many various uniforms from David Weber's Honor Harrington series as a member of The Royal Manticoran Navy, The Official Honor Harrington Fan Association where I serve on their canon costume design and research team.

I am currently looking at putting together a Sith Acolyte from SWTOR. I have put out a few feelers on the RPF in regards to the helmet and armor - and I have found a source for the robes that I think will do nicely. Saber Forge is providing the lightsaber, appropriately the Acolyte model with a crimson soundboard and 12W LEDs. Incidentally, I will also put out a feeler here to Mynock if I am unable to contact him via the RPF as it is his armor system and V5 mask/helmet that I am most interested in.

I really look forward to getting to know everyone. This will be my first Star Wars project, but not my first armor project, having built two heavily modified Sean Bradley ODST kits in the past - but those were not going up for any sort of review or approval - so any advice that anyone can offer as to this particular armor, the other available kits, assembly/painting, and pitfalls to avoid on the road to approval, would be greatly appreciated. I have been reading a lot of the build threads here on the forums (searched Sith Acolyte) and have noticed a few instances where people needed to re-do things or scrap the whole affair and start over - this enlisted guy cannot afford such mistakes - lol

    Thanks all!

Welcome SNK, I know the feeling.   It was only at E-4 that I started really having fun money.  I do miss that sweet E-5 check, but I'm hoping to be getting that GS-9 and even 11 soon.

You've clearly done your research, try posting and reaching out here.  Mynock is generally your guy.  But if that doesn't work, I have a fairly short list of other names I may be able to help you find another option.  Lemme know.

  2. Hi everyone :) My name is Marissa and I'm from The Netherlands. I've been following the 501st for a while now and it would be a dream come true to join the Dutch Garrison. I'm so busy finishing my degree that I don't have much time for crafting yet, but my goal is to start working on my costume in the summer. I thought I'd join already to just browse what others are doing/have done, since I'm not sure yet what costume I want to go for. I'm a big fan of The Old Republic game, but also love Mara Jade, so at least I know that TFE is the place to be for me! :)

Hi Marissa we're always here to help with whatever you decide to do.

Hey guys I'm from Dallas Texas and I'm just now getting into the star wars costuming scene. I'm pretty excited to start working on a A'sharad Hett costume!

Welcome Lao, be sure to get a WIP thread started of your own and we'll be happy to help you out!

Hello all, I'm Michael from Fort Worth, joining Star Garrison/North Texas. I am currently working on getting my Darth Nihlius gear together at the moment and I'm looking forward to being part of the community. I think it's wonderful that the 501st goes to the charity events that they do and I can't wait to be a part of it. I'm a photographer based out of Dallas so if anyone needs photos of their characters let me know !! I'm looking for extra large gloves for Nihlius if anyone knows where to get a nice pair as well as size 15 boots, and and all help is appreciated !! I look forward to knowing you all !! Cheers

Hi Michael.  Glad to have you on board.   Try asking in the Nihilus threads but let me know if you have any problems finding that information.

Hello Im YourMaster Im currently Part of the MMCC and would like to be part of the 501st as well! I live in Halifax ,  Nova Scotia Canada. I really enjoy costuming And screen quality costumes! Ive already begun to build my Kylo Ren kit.  Not really sure what garrison i will fall into. I dont beleave we have one here were i live. Greetings Master.  If your friends need help figuring out who your local unit is, let me know, I'll try to help.   As for Kylo Ren, we've got some great threads here, so be sure to dig in if you haven't already.

    Hi everyone!

I have been lurking around here for many years! Have always wanted to start on my costumes, but first I was busy with school and had no money, then I started work and had no life, then I got married and had a kid... Then I realized that I will never get started if I don't leap into it! So here I am.

I am from Singapore, but currently not in the 501st. I do have a completed generic Jedi, but that is about all.

I have been contemplating an Imperial Knight, a Revan (Got the mask from wickedarmor so far), and a Prototype Boba Fett for some time.

Having narrowed down to Imperial Knight, I realized that there isn't as much information as I had hoped for. So here I am, registering myself and hoping to get some guidance and advice along the way to completing my IK. (I did stumble across starfortressproduction, but a quick google told me to stay far far away from them)

Hope I did not ramble too much. It's good to be on board! :)

We're here to help with anything you need Luc.  Let us know.  You've got some great folks in Singapore also who I am sure can also help.

  3. Hello TFE. My name is Christopher Davis, from Lexington Kentucky. My wife and I are members of the Corellian Base of the Rebel Legion with generic Jedi costumes. I am starting new costumes for the both of us, and my wife has decided to go with a Sinya costume. As I am the costumer in the house, I am posting on her behalf. We look forward to both becoming official 501st members as well as getting to know everybody in the detachment.

Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk

Hey Christopher, I know that feeling.   My wife is currently making a Jedi, I was impressed she made her own forum account over there.   Though I'm definitely the costumer in the house myself.   We're happy to help in any way we can, Sinya is a great option and I look forward to seeing your progress.

    Hello there!!!

I'm Fran "StarGuard", member of the Spanish Garrison.

I've decided star with a Nihilus COTF, my second costume :)

Thanks Michael for you quick answer :)

Hi Fran.  Welcome.  We're happy to help you with whatever you need along the way.

  4. Hello all! My name is Mike Brunco and I'm a member of the New England Garrison (IC-7796). I don't have a TFE approved costume but am helping a recruit build a Darth Revan. Looking forward to checking things out!

Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk

Excellent to hear Mike!   Glad to hear you're mentoring folks to help bring them in!  Outstanding!  They're naturally welcome to make an account here, but your access will be even more helpful.   Please let us know if you have any questions along the way.

  5. hello all i belong to the aurora borealis garrison in Alaska my name is jon and i am not currently apart of the 501st or rebel legion. for my first costume i am looking to make an old republic sith acolyte

Welcome Jon, we've got a lot of great links out there.   Be sure to read up and ask questions.  Enjoy your stay!

Hi everyone, I'm Steve. This is my first costume, which I'm doing Darth Revan. I've ordered the deluxe armor from MWA. Looking forward to making the final alterations once I receive it for my application to the 501st through the Mountain Garrison.

Hi Steve, we've got some great tutorials out there to help you, but if you have any questions, we're here to help.

Hei, I'm Fritz from Jakarta,Indonesia. I'm going to join the Indonesian outpost and planning to make Darth Bane Costume. I still don't know which one i'm going to make, may be someone can help me pick one  :)). It is either from the canon (clone wars series, the ghost of him) or from the legends ( the orbalisk armor) haha. very nice to meet you guys!!

Hi Fritz, welcome!   The real answer is something you need to decide, for sure.   For all the time, money and energy we put into our craft, you're the one who has to be happy with the decision.   :)

Hello!  I am Lucas Jennings from the Florida Garrison, Everglades Squad.  I have been in the 501st legion for just over a year as a Tusken Raider (DZ 10228).  I recently purchased berzerker's  Starkiller Tatooine Variant.  I am also throwing around the idea of doing a Rexus Prime build as well.

Hi Lucas!  Welcome.   We have a few good threads going on both those kits.   If you're missing any information, feel free to ask around and get the info you need.

Hi! I'm SL 12312 from Indonesia Outpost! I'm here to research on Darth Nihilus and Revanamong other things. My adventures with the 501st so far has been awesome. I'm looking forward to chat and learn from you guys here at Flagship Eclipse detachment!

Welcome Waffle.   We've got a lot of costumers out there for both those options, so we can definitely help you along the way.   Check out the existing threads and we're here to answer any questions.

  6. Hey folks,

My name is Callum and I'm from Scotland in the UK. Looking to join UKG. Been looking around here for a while but finally decided to take the plunge and make an account after a busy week trooping for TFA and doing charity events for CHAS (in borrowed kit).

I'm in the process of putting together my first costume, which is going to be Darth Nihilus. I'm waiting on getting the majority of parts from MWA as I've not got any experience sewing or modifying fabric! So far I have the gloves (done some light weathering to those), boots (seem ok, but not 100% sure if right), leather belt I made myself and balaclava for under all the head gear... hopefully that lot is ok.

Will post up pics of what I have so far in a build thread soon, will probably be around new year when I get the stuff from MWA then I can see what I'll need to modify or add to get it approved here :D

Welcome Callum, glad to see you're getting involved even if you're not official yet!   That's the best part of getting to know your new family.   Welcome aboard, as always feel free to start your own WIP as well as get into the nitty gritty of what other folks have already done, there's loads of information out there!

Hello! I'm Kaylan, and I'm going to be working on a Seventh Sister costume. I'm not currently a member of the 501st - this will be my first costume for the group. I'm in the Dune Sea Garrison area, and my husband is working on applying with his Tusken Raider.

This isn't going to be the world's easiest costume, that's for certain. :)

Hi Kaylan, welcome to Flagship.  Costumes around here tend to be a little more difficult for a lot of reasons.  As always, gather your research, see what other folks have already done, and blaze trails of your own when needed.  We're here to help you along the way.  Also, don't forget to grab your local folks and get their input, remember, they all were in your shoes at one point.

  7. Hello,

My name is Casey from PA. I'm looking to join Garrison Cardia. With all the hype of The Force Awakens and Kylo Ren, I'd like to think out of the box a little and go back to the old Droids cartoon and go as my username states with the pirate Kybo Ren.

I love it Casey, as with everything we do around here, start with Research, Research, Research.  Get every possible screenshot you can, with every possible angle, and we will help you in any way we can.   Once you've got some good research started, feel free to share what you have and tell us what you're thinking.   Welcome.

  8. Hi everyone.

I am Jérôme, a french guy, so my apologies for my bad english, and my  grammar mistakes. Currently, I am not yet a member of any Garrison, but my aim is to join the French one. One of my aim is to finish a costume of...*drums* Darth Nihilus, the Lord of Hunger.

I have never play to KOTOR nor COTF, but his costume is the one I prefer, when I look for Sith Lord.

For now, the only costume I have is a Mandalorian one, but a custom one, and I don't have alreadw all pieces. I come here in order to find helps, and after my short readings of different topics, I am prettw sure I will find help :)

Hi Jérôme We are definitely here to help however we can.  You might not be a member yet, but definitely reach out to your local Troopers also as they will be one of your greatest assets to get things rolling.  We're a global family, and it starts with meeting your local folks, even if they don't have much knowledge of the costume you plan to do, they can still help in a variety of ways.   While you're here, don't hesitate to ask questions, our goal is to help you get the best information you can and make the best possible costume you want to build.

attachicon.gif12289765_1049464368431217_1349521577668286484_n.jpg Hi my name is Heath Wemmer,

I'm applying to be in Garrison Titan in Washington State and working on the character Grand Admiral Thrawn. I've been working on costumes, renactment garb, and other props for years. I've always wanted to do a Star Wars Character as far back as I can remember and Thrawn was one of my favorites. So far I have the tunic done and the pants, though they might be improper, so I may have to remake those. I'm starting construction on a temporary Rank Bar tonight for a few events in my local area.

    Thanks for letting me Join.

Hi Heath, welcome.  Thrawn actually falls under the Imperial Officer Corps for costuming, available here: http://www.imperialofficer.com/forum/ and if you're unable to get the access you need, I always suggest finding a local member in your Garrison (Like the GML, or just a helpful member) to help you view what you need to find.  That being said, Flagship is home to many costumers who costume in many forms, not just the ones we have here, I'm a member of the IOC as well.   We can certainly work to help you here if you ever need assistance.   Welcome!

  9. Hi there!

I'm Shelby and I'm from Seattle WA (USA). I am just getting into this but am very excited!  I've read the Hand of Thrawn trilogy every summer since I was in 7th grade (~15 years) so I'm clearly an EU fan. I am a book person, not a comic person though so my knowledge of EU slightly limited by that.

I am mainly looking for help with the props/pieces. I am specifically working on my imperial rank bars for the Admiral Daala costume I did this year for Halloween (more pics below).

My mom loves making costumes, here I am as princess Leia and my brother as an X-wing pilot (ignore the miscellaneous neighbor between us) made entirely by her, so I have a great seamstress who wants to do this with me.

This year I threw together an Admiral Daala costume for Halloween and I'm looking to make it "real". I talked to my mom about it on the 29th and she scored at the thrift store and we got this together:

I used a real gun belt that I had from a Walking Dead costume from my dad who is a county sheriff, which I know isn't accurate :D

By the 31st I had a much better rank bar put together (but don't have a full shot of the costume)

And I've always considering cosplaying as Mara Jade but I don't really have the body/confidence to pull off the body suit.

So, hi! I'm not sure if this is the best place to start but I'll be lurking and trying to learn what I can about rank bars and code cylinders.

    -Shelby

Nice work Shelby, you're really on your way already.   For any upgrades you may be looking for to get more accurate with your costume, be sure to dig in and see what information we have available.  As always, check the original sources as well, and then feel free to ask questions you may have.  Welcome!

Hello, I'm Shelly from South Dakota. I have been working on an imperial officer for myself and have almost completed Royal Guard robes for my husband. When we are approved we will be joining the Central Garrison. I am hoping to begin making a Visas Marr after the Holidays any my husband is interested in possibly doing Kir Kanos. Looking forward to being a part of the 501st!

Welcome Shelly, I'm just spitting distance south of Omaha, so I hope to see you two at a troop some time.   We've got all that information and more.   If you have questions don't hesitate to ask, that's what we're here for.

    Hi everyone,

My name is Tyler Jordan from Charleston South Carolina. Hoping to eventually become a member of the Carolina Garrison. Planning to start a Nihilus costume soon, but not very sure where to start getting all of the pieces that I need. Been looking around a lot of the existing Nihilus forums, and have found a place to get my mask and saber, but still not sure where to get the robes, tunics, gloves, boots, ect. Very happy to start my journey to becoming a member of the 501st. I have been a Star Wars fan a very long time, and feel that it is my duty to the empire and to the force. Looking forward to talking to all of you!

Peace is a lie, there is only passion.

Welcome Tyler.  Nihilus is one of our most popular costumes and as a result there's a lot of crafters out there and a lot of information.  Be sure to check out the boards.  Nefthys in particular is one of our costume mentors who specializes in that costume.

    Hello,

My name is Anna.  I'm a member of Garrison Tyranus in Virginia.  I have an olive officer costume.  I also am a member of Rebel Legion.  I'm working on a Doctor Aphra from the new VAder comics and wasn't sure if she would maybe be part of this detachment in the future.

Hi Anna, welcome.   I'm sadly not caught up on the comics, but most of our costumes end up coming from comics and video games, if nothing else, we're familiar with staring at panels and trying to figure out what is going on.  I suggest starting a research thread in our research section and include what source material you have available.   Even if it doesn't end up with us in the long run, we're still happy to help develop a costume with you.

  10. Thanks. I did peruse the Mother Talzin threads. There's a lot of good information there. I saw there wasn't much for Sinya, but I think i'm doing well so far. I have a lot of great help within my Garrison. I guess I'll begin my own Sinya thread. Any suggestions or opinions would be welcome.

If I recall, she created hers and BAM submitted a costume that still stands as one of my personal favorites in the unit.  I don't remember her posting a lot of things other than the finished product.  However, if you get to a point that you'd like to contact her, I can try and make that connection for you.  Best of luck and use all resources you can, local and online! :)

Hi all my name is Zak and i am from London England

Currently working on Boba fett (so far one year) and just started Kylo Ren, i have my own grey jedi too

Welcome Zak, we have a lot of great folks, including the first Kylo Ren approval among our membership.  We're glad to have you.

Hello! My name is Charity. I am TKID#12785 with the Florida Garrison (Tampa Bay Squad). I am currently a reserve pilot, and my TIE should be completed within the next couple of weeks. (I am also working on a Zam, but that has been a WIP for a year and a half, and who knows when that will be done... lol!) I joined this forum, because I am going to start on a bounty hunter Ventress. I look forward to getting to know everyone here. :)

Hi Charity, I'll be sure to get your forum status updated after I post this.  I have a current costume that is going on 3 years, no sweat, just don't ever quit.   Also, we, and your Garrison are here to help you every step of the way.   Feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Hey guys, so my name is Marco, I live in Tacoma, WA so I guess I'd be joining Garrison Titan. I'm looking to do a Darth Revan, Sith Acolyte, Starkiller, and Darth Sion. Have been a Star Wars fan for 20 years now and it's a major part of my life. I'll definitely be getting my daughter involved as she gets older!! So I'm really excited to further myself to becoming a 501st member and I would love any input on how to go about getting one of these costumes made (preferably Acolyte first) PLEASE let me know!! Lol

Hey there Marco.  Welcome.   That is quite the list of costumes.  I see dollar signs and lots of hours of work in your future.   But there's nothing wrong with that.   I'd say for the Acolyte, start over on those boards, dig around for information.  Mynock's posts in particular are a good starting point.  Then ask questions as you go.

Hello. My name is Sheri', also known as Cypher Lx. I'm currently a Cadet with Garrison Carida and I'm working on my Sinya build. I also plan on a Mother Talzin build in the near future.

Hi Sheri'!   You would be the second Sinya in the 501st then.  That is quite exciting.  We also only have 2 Mother Talzin, but each of those three costumes are quite great.  We'd love to help you as much as possible and transition you from Cadet to 501st Member as swiftly as possible.  Glad to have you!

  12. Big post incoming, I've been the only one doing Admin duties for the site so I'm a little behind, sadly this is one of the areas I didn't get to...  So let's welcome some people!

Hello, I built a TK over in the FISD and have enjoyed trooping with Garrison Excelsior for a couple years now.

I've been planning to make a Savage Opress for a while and am finally getting down to really doing it.  It looks like there's no CRL, so I guess I'll be finding out how to navigate that.  From what I've read here, and I've only scanned through quickly so far, it seems like there might or might not be one person who has actually finished an Opress, and I've seen one or two in other cosplay forums.  But there have been at least a handful of people who have at least started one, so I'll be happy to get any feedback or tips from anyone farther down the road.  It especially seems like the big question everyone else was wrestling with, which is also my own big question, is how to deal with the shirt, which could be a variety of materials and/or forms of constructions.  I've got a couple ideas I may try on that.  Anyway that's probably a question for a build thread, so I guess I'll find out where to start that soon.

Looking forward to getting to know a new group of people, and trying out an all-new set of skills, since this costume will push me into very different materials from my normal experience.

    So hello!

Actually, what IS the best place to put a build thread here?  It looks like there are threads both under the Costume & Prop gallery and also under the 501st Approved Costumes >then that specific costume.  Just want to get it in the right place.

I also forgot to mention that my wife is making a Ventress (Night Sisters).  She's just doing it on her and not for the 501st, but this will be a nice resource for her to check in on to see others' costumes.

Definitely under the actualy costume that you're making.   If something needs to be moved, we can always do that too.   If you need further help getting information on the costume, please contact me directly and I'll do anything I can to put you in contact with experts on that costume.

    Hello all,

I registered on this forum some time ago and decided it was time to introduce myself. My wife and I are planning on doing Sith costumes (Darth Nihilus for myself and Darth Traya for my wife) and are trying to gather as much information as we can.

As of 31 August, 2015, I am a member of  Mile High Squad, Mountain Garrison, 501st Legion as an Imperial Staff Officer (Commander) and would like my wife's entry costume to be Darth Traya. We look forward to getting to know you all.

Welcome Bulldog, I've gone ahead and updated your status to 501st Member, you should have better access now.  We have some great Trayas so there is plenty of information out ther for you.  if you ever need any help, don't hesitate to ask!

    Hello,
My name is James Hair TK46800 with the UK Garrison. I'm now entering my third year with the Legion. I currently troop as TK, ANH Tusken Raider & ROTJ Emperor, and now, as seems to be the standard, I'm looking to do my next build. This will be the first time I've deviated from the original trilogy, so going to be a bit of a departure for me. Looking at building a Starkiller - Raxus Prime Heavy Training Gear costume. Going to scratch build everything, so going to start on the hard parts & see how I go from there....

That should be quite excellent to see James.   Please be sure to post plenty of pictures, not only so we can help answer any questions you have better, but so that future costumers can see what you did and what you learned as you went along.

TD/TS 10602 here. Im a GWL for Star Garrison so I like to be a member of each detachment in case I have any questions on how costumes should be presented.

Boom!  I approved you as a 501st Member on the forum, you should have better access now.  Glad to have you, if you ever need direct contact my e-mail/PM is always open and I tend to respond quite quickly.

  13. For Kyle and everyone else:

I've had a chance to discuss some items with Kyle's command staff and have made some recommendations and possible solutions moving forward, but I want to be sure everyone is in agreement before I post something here.

I think we not only have a fantastic representation of the costume here, but some darn talented artwork to boot.   If we can come to an agreement on a few things, this may be able to serve as a great example to other of use of alternative materials.

    Stay tuned for more!

    Edit+Update:

I got a super fast response and now you do too!

The first concern with the material is the flexibility of what should be a rigid armor, so:

In this case, I'd like to propose a possible compromise for Kyle.    Let's see how much flex the costume actually has.   Perhaps a demonstration of motion for the costume, to see what it does in motion?   Something like bending over to shake hands with a child, reaching for things, ect.   It might sound crazy, but without seeing it in motion I feel we might not have given it a proper test.   Then, if it does flex, perhaps we can come up with some way to reinforce it, I'm not an expert in materials entirely, but I am an outside-the-box thinker.

As for some minor spots like the ends of the claws displaying what definitely looks to be cell foam from cutting it:

I do stand by the GML on the concerns here.  My recommendation there is some sort of filler, again, I'm not sure what would best bond/fill foam adequately and THEN hold up to wear.   To me that is simply a last step finishing touch that could be remedied (I am hoping).

Pending both of these being remedied though, I believe the appearance of a rigid armor, even as a foam would be acceptable, again, it has to look like a hardened piece of protection.

As a last note on my suggestion, I do really like what you're doing with your new chest piece.  Whatever you decide, we're here to help you.  Please post lots of pictures, and questions, and if the answers get delayed, please send a reminder, sometimes things to get lost in the shuffle.

  14. Until someone builds a costume and supplies source material and a costume that meets our standards, we don't make costumes official.   It's a cart and horse situation.   Once someone builds something, decisions get made as to whether or not it can be considered.

Generally speaking though, he's definitely a bad guy.

In this case, Arcann's cybernetic arm would be my biggest area of concern, to do so accurately and still meet our standards.   There is a line I am looking for in our guidelines but I am currently having a hard time finding it.

  15. Sorry your other post got missed.   While they wouldn't be considered 100% accurate, I'd give them two thumbs up on an approval.  You could always modify them later to make them more accurate to the screen references, but as people rarely see your feet, and what they do see is typically no higher than your ankle, it's usually a relatively low point of concern with this particular costume.

  16. Totally depends on the glove, and the phone.  :)

Looks like you're in the ballpark.    If you have anyone who can take the photo for you, I'd recommend doing that, and have the lightsaber off with some good natural lighting.    Then take front, both sides, and back (even though it's a cape, seeing how the capelet rests is important.)

Probably minimal suggestions to be made, based on the initial glance here, you should be trooping officially in no time. :)
