Is the hakama more of a split dress or pants?

Still working on Revan i need to make new lower cuffs for the gauntlets. As well as replacing my sash and a few other soft parts. Now the backplate is required i have to look into getting one as well. Here are a few pics of the suit so far and you can see what probably needs replaced. The first picture the fabric in the middle was very thin i have replaced that with Robs material.

I cant find any good pics of the side where do the straps attach? is it on the side of the chestplate? i cant tell.

Hey guys just acquired and older WA revan and man does it needs some work done. could anybody post pics of how they have the chest rig strapped? i just need to see a good one. will post pics soon.
