  1. Have you considered making the 3D model and having it printed on a 3D printer? I know it wouldn't be metal but it could be painted to look that way, wouldn't have a weight issue and the computer generated model would give the sort of detail you're looking for. One of the troopers in our squad has a 3D printer and has been producing some awesome props with it.
  2. Hi Daniel Welcome to The Flagship, you've come to the right place, there's been plenty of discussion of the Sith Acolyte going on here.

    Hello, I'm new here

    Welcome to The Flagship
  4. Cool, I loved that character in the promo videos Looks like you're off to a good start, good luck with the rest.
  5. Well, I completed everything and submitted my approval pics and just got advised on the weekend that my Revan costume has been approved. Yay Still working on some ideas to get the cape/hood to sit correctly to make things a little easier to get right at a troop, especially if there isn't a mirror available to check everything in.
  6. You might be interested to know that the LMO dropped into my build thread on my garrisons forum and mentioned that the eyes on the cuirass should be grey, not black. (indicated by red arrows on pic below) I hadn't seen anything mentioned on this in any other threads here so I was a little surprised as I had read all I could find on the kit from My Wicked Armour (not complaining, just curious that I hadn't seen anything on it previously). I did query if the side tabs (yellow arrow) should also be grey in that case but unfortunately didn't get a reply.
  7. Just to finish this off, I went ahead and ordered with Utrasabers and am very pleased with what I got. I did have a problem with the batteries to start with but they were very helpful, prompt with email replies and got it all sorted out for me
  8. My Revan isn't approved yet. I'm hoping to submit for approval soon but I am going to be changing those rings out before i do. To quote from the CRL http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:SL_revan Cuirass (Chest Armor) "Accurate clasps are strongly recommended. Rings are acceptable if a more accurate alternative is not available." So I guess it's up to a call from the GML. I will post some pics of what I do to replace the rings on my armour once i have it done, perhaps that might help.
  9. Just a small update for now. Last night I replaced the rings along the bottom of the armour with some more substantial looking ones, thanks to Darth Brute for that suggestion
  10. Hi Kris I'm just doing a Revan costume myself looks like we have the same kit - MyWickedArmour - if you want to check out my thread and see what I'm doing here's a link for you. http://www.theflagshipeclipse.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2428 I'm basing some of mine on Darth Brutes thread as well. Good luck with your build
  11. Thanks Yeah, I'm still trying to get my head around how to do the hood/shoulders myself. If I come up with something clever I'll post it here.
  12. After having the kit sitting in my room for a week the weather finally cooled down somewhat allowing me to do a test fitting on the weekend It's just held on with the standard straps and velcro at the moment but now that I have things positioned correctly I can start upgrading bits and pieces as required. The cowl isn't sitting right just at the moment and I still have to attach it to the chestplate correctly as well as add the line of piping across the chest of the shirt. And I completely forgot to put the handguards on But as a starting point I'm pretty pleased with it And of course I couldn't resist breaking out the lightsaber
  13. In addition to the kit from Rob I purchased a few additional items. These will also work nicely for the TIE Pilot that I want to do down the track as well High collared shirt, needs to have a line of piping sewn across the chest but I need to fit the armour first to position it correctly. And a very nice pair of Italian leather gloves which my lovely partner bought for me during her trip to Europe last year. I also bought some clasps to replace the rings on the chest armour. I also had purchased a balaclava but after a quick test fitting with the mask I realised that the fit is not as good as it should be and some skin remains uncovered so I am going to have to go shopping again for something better. The kit is mostly set up with velcro straps and I intend to change that out for snaps or maybe magnets but I will use the velcro initially to get the fitting correct.
  14. I've been looking at doing this costume for some time now and it's finally happening I had intended to do it about this time last year but then our hot water system died and the money I had put aside for the costume went on replacing it but at least we had hot water for the winter. So late last year I managed to get a hold of Rob from MyWickedArmour and place my order and it arrived just over a week ago now. The soft parts are all piled together on top of the box and include: Hood and Capelet, Cloak, 2 Sashes and the Hakama. So, I pretty much have the entire costume here although of course I'm going to have to do a small amount of assembly and of course make sure everything fits correctly and make a few small upgrades.
