Detachment: The Flagship Eclipse Detachment
Context: Star Wars — Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II


Yun was a young, force-sensitive Epicanthix and a follower of the Dark Jedi and Inquisitor Jerec. He joined with Jerec in his quest to rebuild the Empire and capture the fabled Valley of the Jedi.



This Visual Guide has been reviewed by the detachment staff and the LMO team and is certified for use as a minimum approval guideline for GMLs. GMLs are free to approve this costume type.


  • This document is not intended to be a detailed how-to on costume construction; rather a visual guide to be used for 501st costume approval. Details on construction may be found on the respective costume detachment web forum.
  • GMLs uncertain about an aspect of submitted costume shall post questions in the appropriate DL/GML peer review section of the Legion forum.
  • Measurements given in this document are intended to be approximate and generalized; not criteria for approval.
  • Requirements for all 501st costumes are proportional to the wearer in scale, fit and size.
  • Text descriptions are only one part of the guideline. GMLs and costumers must consider both text and pictures (CRL and Reference) when reviewing the costume.


Required Costume Components

The following costume components are present and appear as described below.


Yun Head.jpg Face and Hair
  • Face is clean-shaven.
  • Short, dark brown or black hair.
  • Hair is shorter on the back and sides, with short, side-swept bangs in the front.
  • Side burns are shorter and reach down ⅓ of the length of the ears.




Yun Shirt.jpg Shirt
  • Black, long sleeved shirt with a mandarin collar.
  • Cuffs of sleeves are not fitted, but hang slightly loose.




Yun Tabard.jpg Tabard
  • Light to medium cool gray knit fabric.
  • Has a large, simple form hood attached to the back.
  • Front and back “tails” of the tabard reach just above the wearer’s knees.
  • Front of tabard has a deep V-neck cut.
  • All fabric edges are hemmed.




Yun Obi.jpg Obi
  • Wide obi worn over the waist and over the tabard.
  • Color and fabric match the tabard.
  • Obi has a base and a top layer design.
    • The base of the obi has a center oval shape and two straps that attach in the back.
    • The top layer sits within the edges of the base layer and has two mirrored concave cutouts in the center oval section.
  • Both layers of the obi have a thinly padded look and are not flat.




Yun Belt.jpg Belt
  • Plain, black leather belt with no visible buckle or decoration visible when in full costume.
  • Belt has an Original Trilogy-style D-Ring hanger on either the left or right side.




Yun Pants.jpg Trousers
  • Loose fitting black trousers with no pockets and no visible decoration.
  • Trousers are tucked into boots and are slightly flared above boots.




Yun Boots.jpg Boots
  • Knee-high, black, riding style boot of leather or a leather-like material.
  • There are no buckles, snap tabs, or decoration on the boots.
  • Boots have conservative heels.
  • A single stretch panel or zipper may be present; they are to be hidden on the inner part of the boot shaft.
    • Not visible from the front, side or back.
  • The top of the boots may be flat or Spanish Style, but not Cowboy or Superhero (pointed at the front) style.




Optional Accessories

Items below are optional costume accessories. These items are not required for approval, but if present appear as described below. If adding in an accessory after initial approval, the item still needs to be submitted to local GML for approval before use.


Yun Saber.jpg Lightsaber
  • The hilt resembles the reference images for Yun’s lightsaber.
  • If the lightsaber has a blade, it is yellow in color.
  • If worn on the belt, the lightsaber has a D-Ring and is worn on either the left or right side.
