The first new update for NBA 2K25 in 2025 has today rolled out across PS5 and Xbox Series X/S platforms. Since late November, there haven’t been many new patches for NBA 2K25, which has left the game more or less the same over the past month. Now, with Season 4 of the basketball sim set to begin in just a few short days, Visual Concepts has let loose a new update that lays the groundwork for this next major wave of content.

Available to download now, update version 4.0 for NBA 2K25 doesn’t do a done to the core game right now. Much of this patch is focused on incorporating the new additions that will arrive in Season 4, which goes live at the end of the week on January 6th. Other than this, update 4.0 also makes some player likeness changes and fixes some random bugs while also tweaking a couple of smaller gameplay mechanics.
