Hollow Knight: Silksong is finally here… but good luck playing it because all of the video game stores are down. Silksong is one of the most anticipated games of the decade, despite not being part of a major franchise like Grand Theft Auto. The original Hollow Knight was a smash hit and a total indie darling, prompting developer Team Cherry to work on an expansion that would eventually turn into a full blown sequel known as Silksong. It has been in the works for the better part of a decade and has come and gone from the public eye over the years, but fans have remained hungry for its release.
Just a few weeks ago, it was finally confirmed that Silksong would release in September. The day has finally arrived and… everything is crashing. The PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, Steam Store, and Nintendo eShop are all experiencing issues that prevent players from not only downloading Silksong, but other games as well. Players on Steam have been reporting the same error code of E502 L3, which indicates a server overload on Steam’s side. If you’re having issues, things will likely be fixed somewhat soon, but you’ll have to keep checking back throughout the day.
