During the Capcom Spotlight on June 26th, 2025, the company revealed Title Update 2 for Monster Hunter Wilds. The upcoming update will introduce a wealth of new content to the popular action RPG at no additional cost. This includes brand new monsters to hunt, equipment to unlock, a new special event, photo mode enhancements, and a surprising special collaboration that will have hunters shredding across the Forbidden Lands.

Capcom has teamed up with one of the biggest guitar manufacturers in the world to bring one of its most iconic instruments to Monster Hunter Wilds. Between August 27th and September 24th, players can complete an event quest to earn a special gesture featuring the Monster Hunter Rathalos Fender Telecaster. The real version of the guitar was released earlier this year, which is listed at $2099.99, and celebrated the 20th anniversary of the beloved video game series. It features special graphics inspired by the Rathalos, a satin polyester finish on an alder body, and humbucking pickups at the neck.

Another exciting addition coming with Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 2 is layered weapons. For those unaware but are familiar with other RPGs, this feature is essentially Monster Hunter’s version of transmogrification, or the ability to change the appearance of a weapon without changing its stats. Crafting the final weapon in a tree will allow players to use it as a layered weapon. Additionally, forging high-ranking Palico weapons will unlock layered equipment for the Felyne. It should be noted that for weapons that change appearance when upgraded, the pre-upgraded version will be available, and layered Artian weapons can be earned by fully reinforcing the rarity 8 weapon.

The upcoming update will also bring some new monsters for players to hunt. Specifically, the Lagiacrus, Seregios, and Arch-tempered Uth Duna will be added, and introduce new equipment for players to unlock.

Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 2 is set to release on June 30th for all platforms. However, there will be a maintenance period on Sunday, June 29th between 4:50 P.M. and 9:30 P.M. PT. During this time, the game cannot be played online. It should also be noted that maintenance times can change without prior notice.
