Since releasing Civilization 7, Firaxis Games continues to take player feedback into account with each new update. That means that, even with middling reviews at launch, the game just keeps getting better. Today, Civilization 7 update 1.1.1 arrives, with a blend of brand-new content and additional improvements. The latest patch for Civ 7 is available on all platforms except for Nintendo Switch, which will get this new update at a later date. Like prior Civ 7 updates, this patch adds some polish to the game’s UI, but sees a few new features introduced as well.

Update 1.1.1 for Civilization 7 introduces a few exciting new features. First up, Firaxis is speeding things up with the new Quick Move setting, which lets players disable movement animations for Units in the in-game settings. In addition, a new Standard start position has been added to maps, bringing gameplay more in line with Civ 6. If players prefer the existing start position introduced in Civ 7, they can turn it back on by selecting the “Balanced” start position in Advanced Options. Another long-requested addition from players was a notification when districts are being attacked, and today’s patch adds this feature, as well.

In addition to free content updates and fixes, this update also adds some new content for the paid Crossroads of the World DLC. This includes a new leader, Simón Bolívar, and two new Exploration Age civilizations, Bulgaria and Nepal. These updates are only available to gamers who’ve purchased the Crossroads of the World Collection DLC, which costs $29.99.
