Twi'lek Pam

Recommended Posts

Hi, all.

Now that Brakiss is a 501st approved character, we need to get a proper setup for him.

Needed:

- Links and Information post

- Coppermine Gallery and reference pictures to put in it

- Standards writeup

- CRL entry w/ pictures

- Add a certain person's costume to the rotating gallery...

If you are interested in helping out, let me know!

Making some progress on the text...

Costume Components:

1. Hair: The blonde hair is cut short.

2. Capelet: The deep red capelet covers only the shoulders. It is open in the front, and includes a darker trim edge that is approximately 2.5 cm wide. A leather or fabric strap is used to hold the capelet in place. This strap matches the color and width of the capelet, and it includes decorative brass rings on each end, as well as a brass anchor point in the center. A narrow brown strap is tied to each ring, and passes through the center anchor.

Shoulder Bells: Weathered shoulder bells with antiqued brass coloring are worn under the capelet. The shoulder bells include a textured surface, and match the reference images in shape. A narrow brown leather strap connects the front corner of each shoulder bell to the brass rings on the capelet.

Cape: A heavy brown fabric is used for the cape, which is approximately ankle length. The cape is full, with a flowing silhouette.

Tunic: The top third of the tunic is made with a dark burgundy fabric. It has a square neckline, and the neckline is trimmed with a tan border. Below the burgundy section, the vertical center of the tunic is made with a lighter red fabric which includes a row of four brass toned toggle buttons. The outer third of each side of the shirt is made with a medium tone red fabric. The same medium tone fabric is used to make the vertical piping that separates this color from the center red section, and it is also used for the long bloused sleeves. Dark burgundy straps are worn around the elbows and wrists. The tunic is nearly knee length. The bottom edges of the tunic are decorated with brass corner plates.

Obi: A very wide red or dark burgundy obi is worn around the waist. This wrap covers the stomach area, and is bordered on the top and bottom by a darker reddish brown border. Narrow leather straps are attached horizontally along the top and bottom borders, which are also secured by brass anchors. Two straps are located to the sides of the top border, while a single strap is located at the center of the bottom border. A brass colored oval medallion is worn at the front center of the obi. Two small round studs are located in a vertical line above the medallion, while one round stud is located below the medallion.

Double Belts: A pair of belts is worn in a crossed pattern across the hips. These belts may be created from dark reddish brown leather, and include antiqued brass bars across the front.

Pants: The black pants are bloused where they tuck into the boots.

Boots: The black or dark gray boots are nearly knee high and have rounded toes.

Costume Accessories:

I hope to be in shape to have this on at Dragon Con this year. Can I get a detachment photographer with a checklist of photos so we can get them taken there?

Hi,

I don't know who will be there to take pictures. I doubt we'll be able to go this year... it's an expensive trip from California!

Honestly, though, it's much better if you can take pictures at home or with a friendly local photograher, with a nice white background and good lighting. 90% of the pictures that people have taken for the CRL at conventions can't be used when I get them. They're usually too dark if they're taken inside the hotels, the color's messed up by fluorescent lighting, or washed out by intense sunlight if taken against the wall outside, or the backgrounds are too busy (we really need a nice white backdrop). Con badges are often visible as well, and it takes a lot of time to photoshop out things like that!
