Mortis Ahsoka Tano

Recommended Posts

Hello!
I debuted my version of "Dark Side Ahsoka" from the Mortis story arc from The Clone Wars at Star Wars Celebration. Since then, I've been encouraged to submit the costume for review. :)

Why I believe she should be considered:
During the Mortis arc, Ahsoka is turned by The Son; becoming a willing pawn to serve the dark side. In the episode, there was a legitimate chance that she wouldn't have been turned back. It wasn't just a disguise or act, as she was totally consumed by the dark side's influence. In fact, she dies while serving the dark side. Anakin was only able to bring her back after her death. At Celebration, Dave Filoni did confirm to me that Ahsoka died on Mortis "for a hot minute".

Although Ahsoka's brush with the dark side was brief, it forever changes her destiny. Not long after the encounter on Mortis, Ahsoka leaves the Jedi Order and is later quoted, "I am no Jedi". ;) Since there is precedent of other fallen padawans like Barriss Offee being approved (DS- Barriss Offee- Traitor), I though I'd give it a shot!

About the costume:
My Padawan Tano costume is approved by the Rebel Legion. I've recently made a new headpiece that is even more accurate than the one in my RL profile. Everything was made from scratch- foam, batting, and latex for the lekku; tunic and pants sewn and reinforced with wire for the cut-outs; dyed lambskin leather for the bracers and boot covers; alcohol-based body paint, etc.
The "Dark Side" upgrades include: 'Sith' contact lenses, additional detailed body paint (multi-colored veining), broken and weathered shackles around the wrists, and I made the Dagger of Mortis to carry as a prop. The dagger is sized for a 7-foot tall Force Being, so I used photoshop to scale it to a real-life equivalent.

Below is a link to some reference photos as well as photos of my dark side costume from SW: Celebration. I've also included a couple shots of the normal version of Ahsoka, just for standard costume reference.
At the time, I do not have formal approval photos, I only have shots from the event. However I am planning on doing a proper photoshoot of this costume in the near future. After the shoot I could provide proper front/back/detail shots.

Since there is no CRL I was instructed to post here for the Legion GML to review.
Thank you!

Yes, LMO team has been notified and will discuss.

EDIT:  If she submits adequate photos we can asses it. As it stands the current images are just con pics. Fun but not enough to asses the costume with proper feedback. A solid build of the costume would be fine for approval. As it is a "New to the Legion" a CRL would need to be drafted as well for inclusion. Keep us in the loop as to the progress of the build and a draft of the CRL.

Thanks for the updates!

It may be a couple weeks before I am able to suit up with this particular version of Ahsoka, but when I do, what sort of photos would I need to submit? Standard front/back/sides photos?
Thanks in advance!

Yes, front back, and side against a plain contrasting background ideally with good lighting. Starting to get invidual photos of the various pieces would also be good (again against a simple contrasting background).

Hello again! I haven't forgotten about this- I've recently moved and am hoping to wear Mortis Ahsoka to a con next month. I can take the necessary photos and post them here (?) as soon as possible. Thank you all again for considering my costume!

Be sure and take them without con badges and in the best light and simplest background possible.

Posting here is fine, be sure and also email to the LMO address @ 501st.com. Thanks.
