I've decided to slowly work on an A'Sharad Hett build while waiting on feedback for my Tusken Raider approval pics. One of my hobbies happens leatherworking, so I'll be working on the belt, pouches and helmet as time, money and health permits for now.

Being a former Jedi, A'Sharad's belt is actually a Jedi belt. Having never made one before, it seemed like a good place to start seeing as I have most of the gear needed to make it. I began with cutting up two strips of leather for the belt and then rolling them up to try even out the curl (due to a lack of space, I have to roll my leather instead of storing it flat).

Apart from this, I've ordered some of the cheap and easy bits such as the red plastic for the lenses and the steel buckle for the jedi belt. I've sourced most of the other parts like material for the inner and outer robe, boots, wraps material and gloves. Just gotta save up!

Next up, patterns and pouches!

Did a little bit of work on the A'Sharad bucket as I wait for a reply from the detachment. I ended up removing a chunk of plastic from the top of the lip as I didn't like how much leather sat beneath the tooth on the stock bucket.

Belt and bucket finished as far as I can, just awaiting some bits and pieces: buckle for the belt, pouch information and the wig for the bucket.

Back to it after a brief new years break! I spoke with my GML about the appearance of the pouches in the CRL and, after consulting with Thomas and Michael from TFE, I've decided to make my pouches more comic accurate. As a hobbyist leather worker, I love the look of the pouches on the CRL, but I don't feel they accurately resemble those in the Darkhorse comic. As with most of the EU characters, it's tough finding a consistent set of reference pictures due to different artists varying takes on the characters, but I've chosen to go with the following reference as it is the most clearest drawing which will make things a bit easier!

My attempt at the A'Sharad Hett belt, still awaiting the buckle, so this is a 95% complete WIP shot!

Been flat out at my new job and haven't really had a chance to work on my Hett build for ages, but I've got the weekend off and am trying to make up for lost time! My wife has been sewing her butt off and has completed the inner tunic and obi and is currently working on the pants and tabards, hopefully we'll have them complete by tomorrow.

Sizing up the tabard pattern:

I've cut out and fixed the red lenses into the eyestalks and am currently waiting for some glue to dry in the ponytail so I can attach it to the helmet and wrap it up. After having no luck finding a correct looking belt buckle and not wanting to use a standard side release buckle that a lot of Jedi use, I bought an offcut of aluminium checker plate and made my own by grinding out the buckle and drilling the belt loops.

Would it be possible to get this thread moved to the new A'Sharad Hett section?

My 'bucket', 95% finished. My wife and I finally got the hair to a point where we were happy with it! Just needs a bit more weathering and some black screen behind the mouth. I'm not completely sure how to go about the weathering for A'Sharad just yet, the CRL has a red dirt smeared all over it which doesn't fit well with the comic and my Tusken is much darker, so I'll have to figure something out. The picture isn't a great representation of the colours either as I used my phone camera, the colour is much more subdued!

Looking good! That belt is great. What pen caps did you use for the capsules?

Sadly I can't claim the capsules! I found these ones on ebay and they looked the most accurate.
