Hello,

I am Chris, I am looking to join the 501st. So far I've been looking at the different detachments and costume CRL's and thought I'd just say hello and if there is any advice for a new beginner to costuming, etc. Some of you may know me from the IOC, JRS, and Midwest Garrison forums. :D

I was looking at doing a Yun or Starkiller (medical robes, I don't know if this counts as "501st" or "Rebel Legion" but no posts to either has been made) and was told to post here as this detachment deals with EU characters.

Welcome, Chris.

At this time Starkiller's medical robes are not an approved costume, but I believe they could potentially be approved since he's still serving Vader at the time that he's wearing them. In order to get the costume approved, you would need to provide reference images showing the full body, both front and back, and you'd need to make a costume that truly recreates those reference images. Since it would be a first in the legion costume, it would be under high scrutiny for accuracy before it would be approved. Always a good challenge!

Okay, I think I have most of the research done for Starkiller Medical and I saw some older posts on the same topic. As for the Yun idea... has that been done or not? It is a second possibility I am looking into as well.

I've got ~10+ reference pictures for both costumes from the cutscenes, so they should be official.

I can start separate topic on both if you want just to get things going, if anything maybe someone else had the same idea or can help out (I am way too new to this). I was going to start with a bridge crewman or reserve pilot, but the reserve pilot got me sidetracked on over to Force Unleashed and in turn Jedi Knight as I had video clips from both. :D

Hi,

I wasn't sure who Yun was so I had to do some research on that one. As the Google search results came up, I wondered why you were asking about a Street Fighter costume. Then I spotted the Dark Forces game images and clicked on one. Just then my husband walked by, saw the picture on my computer screen, and announced, "That's Yun." You can probably guess who is the game player in the family.... :-D

It appears that Yun would also be a potential candidate for 501st approval. He is a villain character, and wears a pretty simple outfit that shouldn't be terribly difficult to recreate. It reminds me of Luke's black outfit, with gray tabbards and an odd obi/belt piece added to it. Same as before, you'd need to provide full body, front and back pictures, and then make a costume that looks like the pictures!

Hello. I just came across this old post about Starkiller in his medical robes. Does anyone know if anything ever came of this or if someone completed a similar project?

Many thanks!

A picture is worth a 1,000 words.

If you are bringing up a post from 4 years ago (a lot can happen in 4 years), I would suggest posting pictures of what you are talking about, to help motivate a response.

Just a suggestion.
