WIP: ForestFire Sith Acolyte

Hi everyone! Just want to post my progress here hopefully when I'm done with the armor, the CRL would be up already!

So I got a second hand kit from a garisson mate over here in Singapore...

Not sure of who is the maker but it would be helpful if I can contact the person since I am having some sort of a road block on the thigh pieces...

Anyway I decided to build this one from the ground up starting with the boots... bought an industrial pair and glued the velcro on...

Next are the shins, now this one took a loooong time. started working on it since late december but only for short periods of time though...

It has been ages... this is what I have done so far... cut apart the front piece of kevins toe armor and sticking them on with silicon glue for flexibility on the boot.

and a few test fits and shots with the shin armor...

Been busy with life lately and other projects, but now got to do a bit more painting with all the pieces. Next would be strapping and finishing up the gaunts hand plates and gloves.

Will be trying on different ways to get the shine off when i apply a few more coats!

Neck seal was a second hand bought over from the mando mercs site. It was used for an iron man costume. I thought d ribs and paint job would work for a Sith Acolyte, so i bought it. Will be contacting Darman for a back-up one in case ds one dont meet standards...

Next will be figuring out how to install that pointed thing on the gaunts as seen here...

Are those the same gauntlets that are shown in the pics from your first post? Your kit in the first post looks like the Kevin B armor, but as you said here, these gauntlets are from Kevin W's "TOR Jedi Armor."

The way the CRL is written right now, the TOR gauntlets are "discouraged" which I believe is the same thing as saying they won't be approved. On the other hand, the Kevin B gauntlets could very well be approvable; I don't know if anyone has gotten the Kevin B armor approved yet.

Good luck on your build!

"Forearm Armor

For 501st approval:

Must be fully-encased gauntlets complete with the appropriate greeblies consistent with available references.

Must be painted a metallic grey that is weathered in a pattern consistent with the rest of the armor.

The use of TOR Jedi armour is discouraged "

Yup I know it is discouraged but I have the impression that it was only discouraged because of the lack of details, and how the TOR Jedi is not consistent with the TOR sith in some details like the cod and gaunts.

Kevin B's gaunts were too long for me so I got the KW gaunts along with the handplates as it fit me better.

Hope the additional missiles and deeper groove lines that I am planning to do will make it detailed enough to be approvable. I think that the word "discouraged" becomes a stigma to not get the kit and do your own modifications and have fun with it. So far in my opinion, based on the CRL I got:

For 501st approval:

Must be fully-encased gauntlets ( check :)) ) complete with the appropriate greeblies consistent with available references. (double check :)) )
Must be painted a metallic grey that is weathered in a pattern consistent with the rest of the armor.(will do)

The use of TOR Jedi armour is discouraged " (just this :wut: )

Thanks for the heads-up!

I definitely hear what you are saying and I hope it works out for you! Your build looks like it is coming along well, and I like the way you constructed your boot armor.

Managed to get some stuff done to move things forward on this build.

Worked on the gaunts by painting it black and adding some extra details...

Where did you get the kit, I am highly interested in one

It is mostly a KB kit you can see his thread at the "for sale section" here. Gauntlets and handplates are Imperialsurplus.com, Ab piece from Wolfgang, gauntlet rocket greeblie from Maynock, thumb and canister from TK1700.

Hope it helps... now I am just missing the robe then ready to take photos for submission. Hopefully can be approved on time for TFA opening!
