  1. Olala, le Me is interested. I suck hard at electronics although my job is forcing me to work with them. I would like some info on such a voice device. Thanks in advance, mate!
  2. Requesting full detachment access. SL-8642 http://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=12045 Thanks!
  3. And it's approved. Thank you guys for for your help.
  4. I think the cape should not fall over the shoulders that far. You know your cape is falling on your arms. But it should only like rest on your shoulders and then fall on your back. I did add soem velcro on my shoulders to keep the cape there and prevent it "from falling on my arms".
  5. Well, i guess it is finished. Today i made a wearing test and here's one short and crappy photo: I will do more better photos tomorrow. This one from wife's mobile phone is not showing many details. But the costume is feeling good already.
  6. Ok that makes sense, Nils. Mine should be ready this saturday. Yay. I just noticed the collars of my Gi are coming together much higher but that's just a matter of taste/preferred style.
  7. There is only thing i would claim: The bottom of the Gi is not even. The closure is not matching its counterpart. [Ok, i know there will be weathering and then it will be hardly noticable ]
  8. Ok, so my assumption was quite good. Thanks for your feedback!
  9. Ok, my next question: The sleeves and that vertical ribbed pattern. I acually wondering about the distance/width of each cloumn/rib there. I was thinking of 2 to 3 cm (0.8 to 1.2 inch for you imperial guys ). How did you guys do it?
  10. Thanks for the clarification. The actual text in the draft was not clear to me. Maybe another formulation/phrasing would help us foreign troopers for better understanding.
  11. As i'n no native speaker, i have to admit that i'm struggeling with this part in the CRL draft... Referring to the picture posted above, version B is the way to go now? Or are both allowed then? My problem: My hood/Cape is in the making right now and it will look like version A actually. As i don't when the CRL will change, i don't know what to do now [Have to admit that i like the version A much better ].
  12. Next step is done. I found some gloves, looking quite good. Nice, smooth leather. What do you think?
  13. Hm Ok, i understand... A little fantasy is needed.
  14. As softparts are in the making, one question did arise... The outer skirt: The CRL just says "...split at the front center.". Ok. As can be seen http://chucrew.com/CRL/Nihilus106/106_11.jpg, it is not just splitting but leaving a gap. Is this gap defined in size or has it just "to be looking appropiate"?
  15. Ooops, mi dispiace. Did not check if its CotF or Kotor.
  16. 4cm would be smaller than the belt, so go for 4 inch, i suggest. So it approx. 10 cm.
  17. Hi fellow Garrison mates! Everyone doing a Nihilus atm. Why mixing two fabrics? I am using one type of silk for all parts, except the arms.
  18. If you're looking for very good boots, i can recommend an ukrainian vendor on Ebay. He is offering Officer Parade boots of the sowjet red army. I have a pair. Like 35 years old and they are great. But i guess the shipping to the US is gonna kill this proposal.
  19. Thanks for the warm welcome and your comment. I guess i got the idea for the hood and cape. I will just it once i got my fabric and post some pics then.
  20. I recommend adding an extension to the shaft as well. Does not cost much and looking better than zippers. I did this with my officer boots. Looking fine.
  21. Thanks for your comments cracker. That saber is indeed looking a bit better. Will see what i'll do regarding this issue. Later (after saving a serious stash of monies) i will ask some of those saber guys to build me a proper one.
  22. Ok, thanks for the clarification! I guess, i got it. ...i hope. I will bring up some new pics once the fabric has been chosen and some stuff is sewn and read to be shown.
  23. Stupid me, sorry, yes it's gonna be the CotF version. Forgot to mention that. 1. As i own some pretty military officer boots without any buckles, straps, zippers or anything, it should be fine then. Perfect, gonna save me some money. 2. Hm, i have to admit i'm kinda struggling with your comment. I'm not sure if i got your meaning 100%. So you mean although it is one piece all over there should be some kind of "break in the flow" at the the neck. Just like this? -> http://www.theflagshipeclipse.com/forums/index.php?/topic/2219-my-5th-attempt-app-pics/ (sorry for hijacking those pics) 3. Ok, i gues i'll give it a try. Those are not expensive, so i'll check those. 4. It has the dimensions given in CRL (5cm wide and 1.2cm for the narrow part). 5. I bought the mask as my tries weren't any good at all. Just built the helmet myself. 6. Yes, later i would like a accurate hilt like given in the CRL. But for smaller non-canonic events i am thinking about using a "similar saber" (You know, without glowstick is half the fun ) Thank you for your feedback!
  24. Hi everyone, after a few months of collecting data, i started building my Nihilus now. And still have questions. [in advance: Sorry if i might not find correct words as i'm no native english speaker ] 1. Boots: The CRL is pretty... wide regarding those. As far as i understood it i could use my officers boots as well, right? 2. Cape/Hood: The CRL is not giving a clear picture (in my opinion) of how the cape "should fall/ be drapped from the hood". I thought that hood and the cape are just one piece and so it's like falling from the top right to the end of the cape without any interruption. Means there is no wrapping/folding at the neck. But i saw several pictures of that here in the forums? Are both way approvable then?? 2.b Cape/Hood: I am planning to add velcro at the top of the crown and inside the hood to help holding the weight of the cape. Is that ok? Or how are you guys doing it? 3. Gloves: I guess i know what i need but better doublecheck with the pro people. Are these ok? http://www.larp-life.com/htm/Ruestung/Armschoner/Handschuhe_delux.htm 4. My belt: Your opinion? 5. Mask and crown: Your opinion? 6. Saber: Actually i am searching for a cheap alternative for the beginning. I would like an accurate saber later but have to builds funds for that. So i am thinking about using some generic silver stunt saber like this one https://www.ultrasabers.com/product-p/stunt-initiatev4.htm for starters. What do you think? Ok, thanks in advance! Best regards, Christian
