  1. You are right about the red stripe and I will be revisiting this at some point as I'm not quite happy with it, but for a first attempt I think I did ok. The smoothness and some of the cracks are what bother me about it also. I will be attempting the other armor pieces next, probably the gloves and vambraces first so I can get some more practice with the Worbla before going after the really big pieces around the torso. How has everyone attached the armor to the gloves? I don't imagine something like glue would be very durable. Is velcro a good option or maybe something else?
  2. Here is one with it on. I have a balaclava from my scout so I wearing that to give a better idea how it will look around the neck line.
  3. I did see the CRL post thank you So here is what I have done for my mask. I found a cheap airsoft mask with about the right shape and cut the hell out of it with my dremel. I then filled out the shape with some EVA foam and covered it with Worbla to get the right shape. After Sanding, priming, and painting I realized I forgot to take WIP pics (oops) so you get the TLDR of the finished thing. Tell me what you think. Would this get approved as is?
  4. Just so I understand correctly, The previously optional back armor is now going to be a required item?
  5. Awesome, I will use that then, thanks
  6. Thanks for the info. I will see if my armor method is feasible. It should be pretty rigid when finished. If it doesn't work then I'll try one of the two methods you mentioned. I figured there may not be patterns, I guess I need to find someone with some sewing experience to help for that part. I'm not sure where I read it (probably on here somewhere) I did see that the pleats should be box pleats and not knife but thank you for pointing that out as official...or will be soon. Will the new CRL have multiple levels or just the 1?
  7. Hey guys, I've begun the prelimenary steps for making a Darth Revan costume to include ordering some supplies for completing the mask and armor bits. I've noticed that a lot of the costumes I've seen the armor looks almost like a rubbery or leather material. I was planning to use Worbla over some EVA for a more rigid appearance, has anyone used this method? Does it get the desired look when completed? I'm also wondering about the cape, hood, and capelet. I have very little sewing experience, are these pretty difficult to do? Are there patterns out there to help? Stay tuned for the progress updates. The mask will be my first part I try to tackle.
