  1. If you purchased the Proffie heart, when shipped from Pach it's with just basic functions. The two buttons on the saber are the PWR (closest to the emitter) and the AUX (closest to the pommel). This will be the case for both Proffie and Asteria. Pressing the PWR button ignites and retracts the saber. While the saber is off, pressing the AUX button will cycle through your different sound banks. Each bank will have it's own color and blade effects (one for sure has a pure white blade color). When the saber is ignited, pressing the AUX will do the blaster deflection effect. If you press and hold AUX and thrust the tip forward, this is the melt function. Press and hold AUX while pushing the hilt will be the lockup function. While holding AUX and pressing PWR, the saber will chirp, and this will allow you to cycle through blade colors as you rotate the saber. Once you get to a color you like, press PWR once more to lock that color.
  2. Glad to hear you got the house situated, Tommy. And also glad you were able to grab a saber.
  3. Discount code is active for 12% off of the Kishi hilt (their IK saber). Pach Store has created a discount code for us. Please use this for 12% OFF "MIKEWALT" on any of the IK products. https://www.thepachstore.com/products/kishi
  4. I received word from Pach Store that they will indeed do an IK hilt run (their Kishi model) for the WTF Imperial Knight armor group. They are going to message me a sales link soon.
  5. I updated my rigging system to leather snap straps and Chicago screws. Also posted on Imgur here.
  6. Sorry just saw this... I also have a KB Props kit. The only piece of armor I have directly attached to my tunic is the ab plate, which I only did after seeing Thomas Spanos' build up close. Originally, I ran a piece of elastic from the bottom of the chest down to the cod piece (allowing a gap for the belt). I found that original setup too flexible, and it would not sit correctly, shifting side to side. I also found this the case when connecting the pauldrons to my shoulder straps, they would move too easily and shift from place, often popping the elastic. For my current harnessing, I used leather snap straps. My pauldrons are pulled in snug to the shoulder straps, and snapped into place with leather. I also used a leather strap with Chicago screws to attach the cod piece directly to the center of the belt (so it's always centered properly). The ab plate is attached directly to my undersuit with Chicago screws as well (because Velcro can be pulled apart). Here's an Imgur album with some pics (https://imgur.com/a/c2djCAF). Let me know if these pictures are enough to show what I did... Not going to Celebration myself, but we usually have a handful. There are only 16 fully approved IK's in the Legion, and likely less in the RL (I would assume most went for dual approval). Hoping we get a lot more with WTF's current run he's putting together, but these won't be ready for this Celebration. I'd say to check the TFE Discord chat, and see if you can get some numbers. As for the Imperial Knight saber...this is the hardest to find. Vader's Vault and SaberForge will no longer do their previous incarnations of the saber (I've asked numerous times). The only vendor who has released a functional saber in recent years was The Pach Store (Wondersabers)...and their last run was 2021. With the recent push on the costume due to WTF's upcoming run, I've been all but nagging Pach Store to put out another run. Last week they finally said that they should be able to do a small run, though this isn't confirmed as to when. I will get the word out if and when they release. Here's the link to their previous run, so you can see what it looks like. There are a handful of 3D print sabers out there which are adequate for hanging on your belt, provided you have access to a 3D printer.
  7. You and I both, brother. Walt has been keeping in touch with me on his progress. The size of the armor was my biggest complaint to him regarding the kit I currently run. Granted, I mistakenly ordered the "Large" kit, since I'm a bit more on the hefty side (unbeknownst to me that I believe the intent of the large armor was for taller individuals, not rounder :p).
  8. Currently WTF is only doing the male version of the armor. However, CrowProps will do the female version of the belt.
  9. Yes, we definitely need to have those variances listed in CRL.
  10. In recent developments, I chatted with Walt from Walt's Trooper Factory, and he agreed to doing a run on Imperial Knight armor. Go to his Facebook group for details. Additionally, I reached out to Giovanni at CrowProps, who also stated he can do the IK soft parts (which I commissioned from him originally back in 2017). He posted details in Walt's Facebook group.
  11. Hey TFE members! I've had a few conversations regarding the Imperial Knight costume over the last couple months/years, and how difficult it is to source parts for pretty much anything. Thomas and Jan worked together creating the character, and Thomas hand sculpted his armor which was the basis of the original CRL. Since that time, the only source I'm aware of for vacuformed armor was KB Props, and that is the armor used in the current CRL. I understand KB is having difficulties with production currently, so dunno if armor from there will be available in the foreseeable future. Currently, there are a few different Imperial Knight armor sets available in 3D stl files. However, when you review the images of these files there are quite a few variances to what is current in the CRL. Now when you consider that this is a costume sourced from comic book reference images, artwork can vary from frame to frame in each comic. Even in our own reference images on the forums, there are some variances from what we have in the CRL. Being a GML, I rely very heavily on what in the CRL when making my approvals (or when I'm doing a build) as all should. I'm looking to open some discussion in the detachment about if we should make some different versions for the IK CRL, to allow for some of these variances. It would definitely open some options for more people to create this awesome costume, and still keep true to the references we have available to us. So what say you?
  12. Really sorry I missed your inquiry Christopher, I hope you'd already long found your answer. But, if you haven't, this is a KB Props rig I built. I'm thinking about ordering a new kit, a size down, which I think will fit me more appropriately. I think the KB large size kit is for someone of 6'2" or larger stature.
  13. Gio can be hit or miss on emails, but I was always pretty lucky with getting a hold of him. However, I haven't had any direct communications with him since 2017, so I cannot speak for now. Though, as far as I know, he's still well spoken of in the Legion with reliability. I do know he's been working closely with the new Major Vonreg pilot costume, so his attentions might have been diverted elsewhere (though that really should prevent one from responding). You can get boots almost anywhere though... I'm wearing Han Solo boots, which are basically tall jackboots, which come to the knee. So don't feel like you need to special order boots, unless that's something you are really striving for (or need very specific sizing).
  14. I did get approved with my Archon, yes. I had since had two different options come up, however. First, I had commissioned an empty Imperial Knight hilt through Ox Works sabers (on Facebook) out of Finland. It took a long time to get the finished product, but I kept good communication with Janne throughout the process and had no expectations of getting it the following week (which he was quite appreciative of and not accustomed to that sort of reception from customers). From design, to machining, to painting, and then international shipping, it took about 4 months and about $155 shipped (if memory serves). I do not know if he's up for doing any more of these however, but I imagine he has his artwork saved so the design is there. Next option I discovered at our C2E2 convention this past March. I happened to be walking the con floor, and I saw a saber vendor there and low and behold...an Imperial Knight saber. I couldn't believe my eyes. I had to ask them if this was an active run, or was it just a display. It was an active run. WonderForce Sabers and their Kishi saber. I bought the model they had available at the show, which was a color changer, with a few different soundfont banks (I believe it's three - I actually haven't bothered to figure it out yet because I don't really care). There isn't an actual white color in the switch, but the Cool Blue gets close enough to pass for now (they told me that I can plug the saber into the computer and edit the blade colors). I also bought it with their opaque white blade, so I have a white blade when the saber is off anyway. This saber is crazy loud too. It's the loudest saber I've ever heard...you can still hear it during a con. I had to tape the speaker port during my last hospital troop, because I felt it was too loud for that application. :p It uses 18650 batteries, so I bought a bunch of 3500mAh Tenergy batteries, and I'm all set to go non-stop. Here's a video link to the saber overview, if you want to see it. The switches are still a bit quirky for me, but I'm definitely happy with it.
  15. I did neglect to update here that I was approved on September 11th. Yes, that is very strange our chestplates are different, wonder if somehow you got an older model that was lying around or something. The one I have matches the one in his Facebook armor album he posted this year (and I got my stuff August of 2016). I custom ordered my undersuit from Giovanni (Crow Props). When I saw the First Order TIE Pilot flightsuits up close, and how similar to leather they looked, I just knew I had to see if I could get the suit for the IK made. Gio and I communicated a few times, dug up a bunch of reference photos from Jan and Thomas, and he went to his seamstress and they came up with a plan. Submitted my measurements, and granted it took quite a while, but he got the job done. And I am very pleased with the result. The suit breathes, so I don't sweat my cajones off, yet gives a leather-like appearance so it looks right. I inquired, and Gio said that he is able to make more suits, for those interested. He also makes the male and female versions of the belts, and boots for those who need.
  16. Hello. I just received notification of my Imperial Knight approval today, requesting Detachment access. Here is the link to my costume profile: http://501st.com/members/displaymember.php?userID=21196&costumeID=309 And thank you!
  17. Thanks Tommy, and thanks for the help earlier. To answer your questions, the pants I'm wearing in these pics, actually, are just some Champion running pants I had from Target. So, yeah, they have a sheen to them, but don't think it gives a leather-like sheen...ya know? And the sleeves should be relatively easy to fix...just tighten up what already has been stitched a little bit more. I'm not expecting much difficulty with that. I'm also considering sewing some velcro right on the cuff edge, and then on the inside of my gloves, just so they will adhere together just a little bit.
