Another update. I've been working on the tonfa blades, the vambrace, and the bracelet.

I did a makeup test just to see how to do things and what I might need to get.

I still have more work to do on the lekku and headpiece. I'll be posting those as I go along. I have already gotten the boots. And the material and patterns I will be using for the outfit.

Last night I worked on the lekku wrappings. I weathered the leather with a hand sander and stiched everything together.

I made another template for the soft leather parts.

I wet molded and heat dried the leather to form.

Then I made a template for the cheek guards. Cut out of leather.

Stiched together. Stuffed with the armature wire threaded into each lekku for shaping.

Then I made a template for the base using plastic wrap and duct tape on the head, cutting it apart, and transferring onto the material.

Cut out. Stiched.

First I started on the lekku, since this seemed like the most difficult part to tackle. I did a lot of research to see different kinds of construction and made my way from there. I bought white vinyl, foam, fiber fill, and armature wire. Then I built up the foam head for better shaping when I did my template. I measured how long the lekku would have to be to reach the desired length and gave myself a few more inches to compensate for sewing and stuffing.

I'm working on my Sinya build as my first costume for 501st approval. I thought I would share the progress I've made so far.

Thanks. I did peruse the Mother Talzin threads. There's a lot of good information there. I saw there wasn't much for Sinya, but I think i'm doing well so far. I have a lot of great help within my Garrison. I guess I'll begin my own Sinya thread. Any suggestions or opinions would be welcome.
