  1. There is no belt on the KOTOR II version of Nihilus.
  2. I personally don't see any difference.
  3. In my opinion if it says it should be the same material, then it should be the same material. My Nihilus is made out of raw black silk for every layer, except the arms, and I don't think that it's that heavy or uncomfortable. You're wearing all black so heat wise it's going to be hot no matter what.
  4. Here are my opinions of the costume, I hope they help. 1. The hood definitely has a bead around the edge of the opening, though I wouldn't say it's a pronounced as the couch cushion. It also definitely has a seam forming a large ring close to the opening. 2. You can see that there looks to be 2 capes, one smaller than the other, but without seeing the back it's hard to tell how the smaller one drapes, or is connected. The one cape looks like it is tied in a knot around her neck, almost a little similar to Darth Nihilus. 3. She is wearing a cross over style tunic with baggy sleeves that are stuffed into the bracelets she's wearing. 4. She has a definite bracelet on, but if you look closely at her bent arm it almost looks like there is a pointed armor piece that reaches up to her elbow. 5. The tabards that come out of the bottom of her corset are a little like the loin cloth that Darth Maul wears that attach to hid belt. You could probably just attach them to the underside of the corset. 6. I'm not sure if she is wearing a hakama or if she has a split skirt. Without seeing a better image it could be either one. It definitely looks like you two are on the right track. I hope you hear back from the illustrators, that would be a huge help. Also your friend is more than welcome to register for the forums here. I was not a member of the 501st when I first registered to look for help on my first costume. I hope this all helps.
  5. Awesome, I can't wait to see how it turns out!
  6. Draft of CRL posted and open for discussion. Need updated pictures to go with everything.

  8. First off welcome to the forums and good luck with your build. I was probably more excited than I should have been when I saw Nihilus coming to Galaxy of Heroes. To me the fabric looks like it should work good, however it sounds like there might be some confusion as to which version you are making. The guide that Pam made for Nihilus is based off of the COTF version not KOTOR II. While I can't tell if you have a slit up the middle of the skirt, just so you know the KOTOR version doesn't have that. Also the tunic for the KOTOR version is not a cross over style tunic. Finally the mask that you linked is not correct. If you have any other question please feel free to ask.
  9. My boots go halfway up my calf. That should be about the right length of them. They should be alright as long as they are not as short as tennis shoes.
  10. My zipper boots I bought off of ebay. My straight jackboots I bought from Hessen Antique.
  11. CRL's are going to be going over changes in the near future. It will be a long process so bear with us as we work on them.

  13. ********** DRAFT ********** Required Costume Components The following costume components are present and appear as described below. Cowl For 501st approval: The cowl is made of opaque black fabric with a suitable drape. It includes a correctly sized triangular over each temple, and the back of the head is unusually square in shape. These effects are best produced by attaching a support structure to the top of the white mask, which the cowl may then be draped over. The cowl is attached to the upper edge of the white mask in order to block the top of the head from view. The cowl drapes downward and rests on the costumer's chest, creating a closed oval frame around the face. The cowl does not have to be attached to the cape, but a connection is acceptable. Mask For 501st approval: The stylized skull-like mask is white or off-white in color. The mask extends from the lips to at least the top of the forehead, and may continue further beneath the cowl. Two red stripes are located over the eye holes. Each red stripe extends upward with a slight taper. The bar connects to an oval design in the center of the forehead, and then narrows again until it reaches the edge of cowl/hood. At that point it expands outward into a second oval with two smaller ovals going out to either side getting gradually smaller. The mask should be overall smooth in appearance. (note: COTF mask is not acceptable with this version of costume.) Blackout Mask For 501st approval: The costumer's face is blacked out behind the white mask. This may be accomplished with black body paint, a sculpted black mask, or a tight-fitting fabric blackout mask. The eyes are hidden with black sclera lenses or the fabric of a blackout hood. 15. ********** DRAFT ********** Required Costume Components The following costume components are present and appear as described below. Hood and Cape For 501st approval: The hood and cape are made from a single piece of black fabric. The hood gathers to points on both sides of the head, forming a triangular shape at each temple. This effect is best produced by attaching a triangular support structure on the top of the head over which the hood can then be draped over. The hood must be attached to the upper edge of the mask just above the silver decoration on the forehead so that it will block the top of the head from view. 16. I found mine on ebay. You can also check Amazon or a place called Leather Mystics.
  17. Thank you for your willingness to help, we will definitely use it. We should be starting to post in progress CRL's soon and then we can start to make changes to them.
  18. Searching Wookieepedia may be the best way to start for reference images. You could also just try searching on Google to see if anyone else has made a costume. I'm not sure if anyone has attempted this costume before within the Legion.
  19. Have you tried looking into boots that zip up? You don't need to have straight jackboots for Nihilus.
  20. Welcome! First off I can tell you that the gloves you have won't work, they shouldn't have any stitching on them. Also the cape should drape down your back, not over your shoulders, and to me the cape looks a little short.
