Description: Nightsisters: Dark Force Witch
Prefix: SL
Detachment: The Flagship Eclipse Detachment
Context: The Dark Side Sourcebook

Residing on all-but-forgotten primitive worlds, the dark force witches are isolated from the formalized training of the Jedi and the Sith. Force-users on these worlds have developed traditions all their own. Traditions that immerse themselves not only in the dark side of the Force, but in the traditions and rituals of their primitive culture. Of all the primitive cultures of dark side Force-users, the Nightsisters of Dathomir are among the most infamous.

Required Costume Components

The following costume components are present and appear as described below.

Blankwhite.gif Hooded Cloak
  • The outer cloak is a thigh-length jacket with an attached hood and modified kimono style sleeves. It is made of a heavy fabric that has a gradation in color like the inner gown.
  • The hood and upper portion of the outer cloak is a deep red, while approximately 20 cm of the bottom edge graduates in color to the same deep magenta as the lower area of the gown.
  • The hood covers enough of the head so that no hair is visible, and the back of the hood comes to a point which hangs down in the back.
  • The sleeves are similar in style to a furisode kimono, with the draping section ending at the elbows. The draped part of the sleeves hangs down past the knees, with a rounded hemline. Where the arms emerge from the draping kimono sleeves, the fabric is narrowed to create smaller sleeves that reach to the mid forearm.
  • The front of the cloak hangs open, revealing the inner layers of the costume. *The cloak hem line is high at the front and slopes downward as it goes around the body. The hem reaches to the upper thighs in the front, and hangs to the knees in the back.

Blankwhite.gif Forehead Decoration
  • The forehead decoration is metallic gray with a matte finish. It is attached to the top of the hood and covers the costumer’s forehead. The armor is diamond shaped with slightly rounded edges, and has two vertical indentations approximately 2.5 cm from each edge.
    • A hidden strap may be used beneath the hood to keep the decoration piece in place.

Blankwhite.gif Cosmetics
  • The costumer’s face, neck, and fingers are painted white.
  • Dark purple designs encircle the eyes and the tip of the nose.
  • A pair of dark purple vertical crescent-shaped designs is located on each cheek.
    • One crescent reaches from the eye markings to the under side of the jaw, while the other extends from the side of the mouth to the under side of the jaw.
  • The lipstick is a matching dark purple.

Blankwhite.gif Amulet
  • An amulet that is approximately 20 cm in length hangs from a thick, dark purple cord at the front of the costume.
  • The cord is long enough so that the amulet reaches nearly to the bottom of the gown.
  • It is attached to the outer edges of the chest armor rather than simply draped around the neck, creating a wide V-shape in the way it drapes.
  • The body of the amulet is a very dark purple tube.
  • The ends of the amulet have a weathered brass color. Both ends are rounded, and have decorative ridges dividing them in half.

Blankwhite.gif Chest Armor
  • The chest armor is metallic gray with a matte finish. It is worn under the cloaks, and over the gown.
  • The armor is designed with a horizontal crescent shape that drapes from each shoulder and over the chest.
  • Wide vertical indentations break the chest armor into panel sections that are narrow on top and wider at the bottom, creating the curve of the crescent.
  • At least two indentation lines are required, as they are visible in the reference image.
    • More indentations may be added to the sections of armor that are hidden by the outer cloak, at the costumer's discretion.

Blankwhite.gif Inner Cloak
  • The sleeveless inner cloak is floor length, and it is made of the same deep magenta color as the top area of the inner gown.
  • The fabric is lightweight and has a crinkly "lettuce leaf" style hem.
  • The inner cloak is open at the front, revealing approximately 20 cm of the inner gown and skirt.

Blankwhite.gif Gown
  • The gown is made from a heavy, stiff fabric.
  • It is dark magenta at the collar, graduating slowly to a very dark magenta.
  • At the bottom, the darkened magenta changes abruptly to a triangular area of deep red fabric.
  • The gown has a high turtleneck or Mandarin style collar.
  • It reaches to the knees, and has an asymmetrical hem line that is higher in the front than in the back.

Blankwhite.gif Gloves
  • The elbow or opera length gloves reach the first knuckle of each finger, leaving the rest of the finger uncovered.
  • The gloves are skin tight, and are the same deep magenta as the inner gown.

Blankwhite.gif Underskirt
  • The underskirt is made from a deep purple fabric similar in color to the purple markings on the face.
  • This skirt is only visible in the center front, from just below the knees to just brushing the floor in length.
  • The skirt hangs like a loose sheath skirt, and may be made with a lightweight crinkle fabric.

Blankwhite.gif Shoes
  • Any appropriate style of shoes may be worn.
  • The shoes match the colors that are present in the fabric or armor of the costume.

Blankwhite.gif Scepter
  • The hand held scepter is approximately 35 cm in length.
  • The body of the scepter is a very dark purple tube, while the ends of the scepter have a weathered brass color.
  • Both ends are rounded, and have decorative ridges dividing them in half. *Decorative round knobs are located at intervals around the brass sections, and an additional knob is located at the tip of each end.
