Costume Standards for Darth Revan

Image Image

A Darth Revan Costume Must Have:
(These costume elements are required.)

Cuirass (Chest Armor):
* The armor should have a metallic sheen and variable coloration, ranging from bronze to a copper tone.
* The armor must be made of a rigid material.
* The armor must include a pattern of ridges that replicate the design seen in the reference images.
* The cuirass includes a black section on each side of the chest. These sections each have two loops built into them. The capelet is attached to these loops via silver clasps. The black areas are rigid portions of the armor, not cloth extensions of the cape.

Abdominal Armor:
* The armor should have a metallic sheen and variable coloration, ranging from bronze to a copper tone.
* The armor must be made of a rigid material.
* The armor must include a pattern of ridges that replicate the design seen in the reference images.
* The abdominal armor includes the attachment points for small o-rings hung from the bottom rim.
* There should be six o-rings if the armor is backless, or there should be twelve rings if a back is included on the armor.

Armor Bridging Piece:
* Located between the cuirass and abdominal armor is a middle section that connects the two armor pieces.
* The bridging piece should be patterned in shades of silver and black.
* This piece may be flexible for mobility, or it may be made of a rigid material.

Vambraces:
* The armor should have a metallic sheen and variable coloration, ranging from a bronze to a slightly copper tone.
* The vambraces should be made of a rigid material.
* They should enclose the entire forearm, and should extend from the wrist to just below the elbow.
* The vambraces have a ridge design running up the front seam. It can be used to disguise the clamshell opening.
* A ridge design goes along the bottom edge nearest the wrist, and appears only on the outer half of the vambrace.

Hand Armor:
* The armor should have a metallic sheen and variable coloration, ranging from a bronze to a slightly copper tone.
* The hand armor should be made of a rigid material.
* The hand armor has a series of parallel ridges running horizontally across the center of the armor piece.
* A smaller ridge design goes across the bottom edge of the hand armor, near the fingers.

Mask:
* This is a mask that extends up to the top of the head.
* The mask has a dark gray and dark rust red color scheme down the center front.
* The paint should be weathered, showing some damage or flaking.
* The eyeslit should be filled with a lense that is dark enough to obscure the eyes behind it.
* Black side panels may be included to cover the sides of the costumer's face, but they are not required.
Note: Since it is not clear if the black area visible in the game render was meant to be a piece of the mask, or if it is a rough rendering of the face which was supposed to be hidden by the hood... the black area may or may not be included at the costumer's discretion.

Cape, Hood and Capelet:
* A suitable heavy black fabric must be used.
* The cape should be box-pleated and should reach nearly to the floor.
* The cape fabric should hang straight down the back.
* The hood should be full, without a high peak in the back, and with a drape in the front to create a cowl-like appearance.
* The capelet attaches to the hooks on the black sections of the cuirass with silver clasps at four points, two on the left, two on the right, and then drapes around the shoulders.
* The cape, capelet and hood can all be attached to each other, or should give the appearance of being connected if they are not.

Shirt:
* The shirt should be made of black fabric with long sleeves.
* The collar should be made in a high, form-fitting style such as a Mandarin collar or tight-fitting turtleneck.

Pants:
* A hakama or wide legged split trousers should be worn.
* The fabric must be black, and should reach to the ankles.
* Large box pleats must run vertically down both legs.

Belt with O-Ring:
* Revan?s belt is suspended in front of the abdominal portion of the armor.
* Both sides slope downward at an angle to a large O-ring.
* The belt attaches to the armor on each side, rather than going entirely around the waist.
* The belt has silver/gray colored bands or greeblies, and has 4 smaller o-rings. Two rings are visible in the front. The other two are further back and are only visible in profile when the cape is swept back.

Red and Black Fabric Drapes:
* The black sash is one long piece of black fabric which attaches to the O-ring at both ends.
* This gathered piece of fabric is not attached in the back. It hangs loosely against the backs of the thighs, creating a draped effect around the body.
* A deep grayish red vertical drape should be suspended from behind the O-ring.
* The red drape may be attached to the ends of the black drape pieces, or it may hang independently from them.
* Vertical ribbing or pleats should run down the full length of the red drape.
* The red drape should hang freely. It is not attached anywhere but at the top.

Boots:
* The boots may be black or dark gray in color.
* The toes may be rounded or squared.
* The heels should be low, and there should be no visible laces.
* There may be be strapping near the toe in a dark metallic gray.

Image

Gloves:
* The gloves may be made of undecorated black leather or fabric.
* The gloves must be long enough to conceal any skin that might show on the wrists. They should be tucked under the vambraces.

Balaclava:
* A balaclava must be worn to hide the neck and face at the sides of the mask.

A Darth Revan Costume Should Have:
(These costume elements are highly recommended, but are not required.)

Fully enclosed body armor:
* While the 501st has accepted Revan armor without a back, the graphics clearly show the armor goes entirely around the body and it is recommended that costume armor reflects this. In light of the fact that it is difficult to get good visuals of the back of the armor, this is not a requirement for membership in the 501st but it will greatly enhance the look of the armor.

Note: The above image is of the Dark Side "Star Forge" armor from the game "Knights of the Old Republic." While the Star Forge armor's cloth parts deviate in significant ways from Revan's costume and armor, the Star Forge armor itself IS an accurate reference for what the side and back designs of Revan's armor should be. Therefore it is a valid resource for making Revan's armor. Note also that the Star Forge armor and costume is NOT 501st accepted.

Lightsaber(s):
* If portraying Darth Revan from Knights of the Old Republic, a single lightsaber should be used. The blade must be red.
* If portraying Darth Revan from Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, two lightsabers should be carried. If bladed, one blade should be red, and the other should be purple.
* The lightsaber(s) should resemble the sabers used by Revan as much as possible.
* Unmodified FX sabers or sabers that are recognizable as belonging to another known character are not accepted.
* A Revan lightsaber?s midsection is silver, with the emitter head and back pommel sections showing gold or brass in color.
